Michael's Coffee Shop is a great must stop place when you are in the area. It is an intimate coffee shop with very friendly staff. You definitely feel like you are at home when sitting in the shop having coffee or a light snack. There are many different types of drinks to choose from including Italian sodas. Michael also makes home made pizzas, cinnamon buns, soups, and sandwiches. The cinnamon buns were my favourite before I got diagnosed with Celiac's Disease, they had just the perfect amount of cinnamon and were always fresh! I had just went to Michael's Coffee Shop today during Dickens Festival and tried his gluten friendly dessert crepe. I have got to say it was really good!! I have heard great reviews about Michael's from a number of people who frequent there. I decided to give it a try a few weeks back. I got there around 7:00 pm. I stood behind a lady for at least 5 minutes, as she chatted with the two ladies in the kitchen area. You know it's a friendly place when they can chat just about anything - while I waited patiently, unacknowledged. To make a long story short, I ordered 2 sandwiches and was charged for 3 (realized it afterwards). The sandwiches were very good. They were out of soup - understandably. During my recent move from Brampton to Calgary on October 23, I stopped at a delightful coffee shop that exceeded my expectations.
