A hidden gem. Absolutely the best Mexican food in all of greater Victoria area. It is tucked into the bottom part of the industrial area beside the Co-Op grocery store. It appears like the majority of products are made here and then sent to grocery stores and independents in our area. They sell items frozen or have them pre-made in a deli window and are quickly reheated as customers walk in. They do make foods to order such as the soup, and tacos, breakfast deal, and more. I have never ordered food and been served so quickly. While you're waiting for your order there are some delicious homemade salsa out on the counter for you to sample with the complimentary chips. They are very considerate about gluten free and have everything marked on the menu as such. Tuesdays are definitely your best day to go here because the four tacos for $8.50 is absolutely the best tasting tacos I've ever had and more food than I needed for lunch. Do not expect a full restaurant experience because there are only 4 spots to sit inside the restaurant and 1 outside. That's not a bad thing because that's probably one reason how they keep their cost so low. Based on where the situated it appears that the majority of their customer base are "grab and go" either tradespeople from the industrial area or people grabbing supper on the way home to reheat. The place is about the size of a bakery or a take out pizza joint. There is enough room for people to mingle while waiting for their order and that's about it. There is also no washroom. They have great little dessert items as well. Some they make in store and some which are made from other local Independents. The decor is pretty cool as you can see in the pictures, and they have a large wall of bulk peppers: more Peppers than you could name with a Scoville count beside each one of them. To make their own nacho chips and the best corn tortilla (heat at home) soft tacos that I have ever had with the simplest & healthiest ingredient list. The chips and burritos they sell to grocery stores, but you can also pick them up in the restaurant. Don't let the lack of seating fool you - it is healthy, fresh, fast, affordable,...
Read moreMany of us who live in metro Vancouver go south of the border for real Mexican food. Eighteen months ago, Covid wiped out that option. Ever since, we've made it our family mission to find great Mexican food in BC. It's not an easy task.
...enter Adriana's.
We stopped by while on vacation in Saanich a few weeks back. They were closed that day, so we returned when they opened first thing on Wednesday. Our enchiladas and salsa were amazing enough that we stopped by an additional three times....in 36 hours. That's a total of four times in the 36 hours they were open before our camping wound down and we returned to the lower mainland.
The enchiladas (both red and green) were fantastic, as was the salad. We tried two salsas - the Dona chela and salsa verde. Both were equally amazing. We brought home some refrigerated enchiladas and tamale pies, and they're cooking up great in the air fryer oven. We're so pleased that we've finally found great Mexican up here.
Our kids were thrilled with the food as well, and they're little foodies.
Now, to my gripe...we live in Vancouver. I'm now spending my time wondering if I need to take the ferry over to Swartz Bay regularly to get my Mexican fill. (Never mind the cost of doing so!). Can we convince you to offer delivery services out this way?

Read moreThis is a review of their food product: the chicken burrito. I bought this from another food retailer, not the individual store. I have to say, this is the worst burrito I've ever had. While I acknowledge good things - the chicken was tender and the seasoning was decent, the burrito was not good. Firstly, there was very little salt. From the first bite I could tell it was incredibly bland. The rice was seasoned and I could taste the seasoning, but it was just incredibly bland and tasteless even with the spices. I'm not sure if the aim was to create a "healthier" burrito by using less salt? But if so, this leads into my second complaint. The burrito was made with very very little ingredients other than rice and chicken. There was hardly any cheese, a few beans and corn scattered here and there, but it was 80% bland rice with pieces of chicken. Cheese, beans, corn, etc.....these are all components of a burrito that make it a delicious and complete and balanced meal. Overall, I would not purchase...
