I'm sorry but I don't see where Horizon went wrong. I myself have tattoos and I was smart enough to put them on my body in places that not only are covered up when I need them to be, but are open to all to see when necessary. I have in the past and will continue to, not be served in a eatery by a server that has what I call dumbass facial piercings. Call me whatever you want but I'm not getting my food from someone that went banana's with the family drill and nail gun. And especially you idiots with holes in your ears big enough for others to use them as soccer nets.
I applaud Horizon for what they asked, as you can clearly read that VISIBLE, not all, just VISIBLE tattoos and facial piercings.
Ask yourself, would you want to be the owner of a restaurant that has a server that loses a facial piecing in someone's food unknowingly only to be sued? Remember your the owner and they are just your staff, but your 100% responsible for their actions, and if a person eats that piercing, causes internal medical damage and gets sick as well because there was a slim chance your employee was a HEP or other disease carrier, I wonder how your business would survive then.
I personally will not hire anyone for any construction jobs that has facial piercings and refuses to remove them, so without further notice, I'm 10000% behind the Horizon and oh yeah, I would have no problem serving any of you if your face is full of metal, I don't have to worry about anything falling from me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am in the area a lot over the summer, soaking up the local atmosphere and getting my small town fix, but I haven't ventured into a 'Family' restaurant either in the area or in fact, in many years. Typically it means frozen veg, frozen meat, frozen everything either with or without good service. You can almost forgive mediocre food if the service is great. However, I am planning a trip this spring to take the trails in the area and we were going to stop in here to eat before making the return trip to Elora. We won't be stopping now. Aside from the poor reviews which do nothing to make the stereotypical experience of a 'Family' restaurant seem in error here, their recent ad for waitresses clinches the 'NO DEAL' for me. Will I be picketing or contacting discrimination agencies? No. I will simply do what all consumers MUST do when confronted with knuckle-dragging 'rules' of anti-social managers/owners and that is to vote with my wallet and feet. I will simply spread my dollars around elsewhere. (Even though I haven't eaten here, I did have to register a vote in order to post this so you got...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlthough the food is excellent and the portions are generous, the owner/dictator was, in our case, unreasonable. Our friend joined us after a visit to the dentist. We all had a meal, but she was frozen and couldn't eat so opted to order a plate of fries as she thought she could get them into the one side of her mouth which wasn't frozen. The owner/chef/mr. unreasonable refused to give her an order of fries saying she'll share a meal with her table mates. (which she wouldn't have been able to do). The wonderful waitress totally understood, but the dipstick in the kitchen refused her order. She changed it to poutine and he allowed that!!....Go figure!! At the same table, my wife couldn't eat her soup as it was far too salty. (..and my wife likes salt!) Another at the table also couldn't finish the soup for the same reason. She asked if she could substitute something else and was refused because "nobody else had complained"!! They've lost a table full of repeat customers. Wonderful customer service ....(he says VERY...
