Update: May 10, 2025 Beautiful Saturday in Fergus, and my daughter in law and I went in around 1:10 pm. The place was at half capacity, and we waited at the front entrance for at least 10 minutes before being greeted and directed to a table outside. Waitress arrived and we placed out beverage order with food together. The drinks came 5 minutes later and we waited for our food. And waited, and waited, and waited. 1 hour. We were enjoying chatting but kept looking around at what might be going on. My daughter in law ordered the Taco trio with beef that arrived with the meat looking like it had sat under the heat lamp for more than 15 minutes.. being generous here. It had a dried, blackened look to it. My fish was very crispy but overly so, i suspect heat lamp as well. Our waitress apologized and said she had her day off today and was called in and jumped in to help out. She was lovely, so this is not on her. This is poor management not being prepared for a Sunny Saturday on Mother's Day weekend whe folks and tourists were out and about walking all over Fergus. The Kitchen had what appeared to be a lot of staff, yet couldn't pull meals out in a uniform manner. Like they were cooking 1 meal at a time and in no Particular Order. Really Disappointed, because I really wanted to give them another chance.
Update: September 26, 2021. Went here today to meet our friend from Orangeville and we drove from Guelph. We were turned away since one of the staff said you needed reservations, and could not seat three. I was a little put off, because nothing on their website indicated this. We went back to our car, to look for an alternative location before our friend arrived. She then texted us that she was in the restaurant and waiting for us? She literally walked past our car and got a table for three from a different server. So clearly there is some challenges with having enough staff, and clear messaging. Patience is important right now for the hospitality industry. We went back in and joined our friend and had an amazing lunch. All three of us follow a Keto diet... So two of us ordered build your own burgers no bun with a Cesaer salad on the side, or house salad, and the third ordered the grilled chicken wrap with a lettuce wrap and Cesaer salad on the side. Amazing service as always. Please support local businesses where you can and be patient. June 2015:
The view the view the view... oh! And the food is really tasty with a variety of options. Great meeting place... the the building is...

I had a visit there yesterday and it was very lovely to see, that they actually changed their verbiage on their menu and it no longer says 'waitress' but experience instead! Thank you so much for listening and making us ladies feel safer! đ¤
Had a great meal here 2 weeks ago, but there's something that, as a woman, really, really bothered me while I was there đ
On their menu, they have an incentive for us as customers, but the wording of it, still leaves an ick feeling for me and for all the women who work there!
It says 'if you leave your waitress a review, she'll give you a free dessert'
This made me feel really, really gross, and when we asked about it, our servers' whole demeanor changed, and she got really uncomfortable!
I told her that as a woman, it makes me feel uncomfortable too!
All I read is 'if you give your waitress a review, she'll give you a piece of her pie!' đą
I'm just not sure why it's necessary to single out the waitresses here and not just ask for a review of the establishment or their experience??
We've been going to this establishment for years, and now, the servers are even wearing these tiny mini skirts! đ¤Śââď¸
It just made me feel really gross and left me feeling horrible for what the staff have to endure there!
It's 2025, can we please stop putting these women at risk and just let them have safe places to work where they're not constantly...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to check out this place, due to it's location to the river, we expected some nice views. Unfortunately the tables next to the river were spoken for but we stayed to eat anyway. Overall, we were not impressed. So many little things that just added up to a disappointing dining experience. Firstly, it's a grubby place, our table was sticky, there were random holes in walls, paint peeling, no paper towel in the washrooms. Architecturally, it is a beautiful building and there are some really interesting elements (the stone wall, the lighting and ceiling fans) but they are hard to notice due to the untidiness around. The Ceasar (drink) was super tiny and served in the wrong glass and not at all spicy as requested. The Caribbean music that played did not at all match the vibe of the place. We waited for ever to get are appetizer which did not match the description listed on the menu and it was tasteless. After more waiting our dinner arrived. The chicken wrap was full of dried chicken and the fish was way more batter then fish. Our server and a manager made an effort to ask how everything was, they encouraged the feedback but unfortunately we didn't have many pleasant things to note. Apparently they are in a transition period (new cook and ownership) hopefully they can figure things out because they have a beautiful location and there is big...
