One and Only Handmade Marketplace — Local services in Centre Wellington

I am not sure why a store that keeps closing unexpectedly, would post a sign in the window saying, sorry we are closed but feel free to leave a google review. This is now the third time I have wanted to shop, and the store was closed. Even though a couple of months ago, it happened to be open on a Monday when I was in the area. The owner tried to tell me they only close the first week of January. Many others I spoke with said they were rarely open on a Monday for months! The actual handmade items and pottery are what I shop for. They also carry many products that most other retailers carry, for a higher price point. "If" I decide to shop again, I suppose I will need to call first. Not happy at this point, and I have an order I place two months ago, and no follow up. Great when they first opened, but they need to do better as they are not the same.

** This is my response to your reply Tammy. First of all, I am sorry to hear about your loss. It does confirm that you were closed for many months on Mondays and Tuesdays. I did have an order placed as you were in the store the day I asked to have the items ordered. I had to repeat several times what the order was and the correct spelling, etc. which I understand, as the staff seemed frustrated and I could see English wasn't her first language. Not a problem, but no contact since. Also, you make an assumption that I haven't been shopping at your store for long. I was one of your first customers. And I have made substantial purchases over the years. This was not the first time my experience was less than acceptable. There were several occasions I saw a note on the door closed for lunch. And once (same staff) was leaving and only opened the store when I explained I was not from town (live an hour away) and could not just "come back later." Please do not assume everyone is on social media. I can appreciate things have changed for you, but when a long time customer leaves a negative review, that might be your opportunity to address it, rather than become defensive.
