I can’t say more amazing things about this restaurant!

it was our second time visiting this amazing establishment and they exceeded our expectations once again!

it started out with being greeted by the kindest lady and even though our table wasn’t ready just yet (we showed up early) she was kind about it and let us know we could have a seat or hangout outside and wait for our table.

once our table was ready we had a table by the window and even after coming back almost a year later our hostess remembered us and asked if we had this table before and remembered we were there for a special occasion the last time which we were shocked she actually remembered! we only had to wait i’d say 5-10 minutes before getting our drink orders in which might i say the gentlemen bartending did a phenomenal job on our drinks! my spouse had a bourbon which he said was the absolute best he’s had considering the last time we were there he had the howler head which he really enjoyed. our waitress was knowledgeable and informed him that the old fashion style of the bourbon he wanted was the best way to order it and sure enough she was 100% right! they have the best drinks in the lakeland and we truly enjoyed every sip!

then it came to ordering our dinner which was a hard choice considering all the food on the menu sounded so delicious and if my bank account could handle it i would of gotten one of everything lol!

we ended up getting two orders of the bourbon braised beef that came with roasted carrots and garlic mash. this meal exceeded our expectations and was absolutely delicious! the meat was so soft and tender the carrots and mash perfectly cooked and don’t even get me started on the gravy talk about mouth watering! we let our waiter know how amazing this meal was and even asked if gordon ramsay was in the back cooking as the food was so good! we wanted to get dessert so badly but were too full to enjoy one of the many amazing desert options haha.

over all this restaurant is amazing and i would recommend it to anyone and everyone! the prices may be higher then the average joe is used too being it cold lake alberta but they are definitely worth how amazing the food is how outstanding the service is and how comforting and relaxing the environment and atmosphere is!

the owner and staff should be so proud of themselves and how amazing this business is. thank you for an amazing experience and we will be back for any and all celebrations i love the casual canoe and could go on and on about how amazing this restaurant is!

so from my spouse and i thank you for everything and we can’t wait to be back enjoying the delicious...

This is the absolute GEM of Cold Lake. We chose to eat here on our house hunting trip and as an early birthday celebration for my partner because of how highly it was rated, and we were absolutely thrilled to see that the Casual Canoe lives up to their reputation. We made a reservation, and I do recommend making one. When we arrived we were greeted by name and then we were promptly seated by one of the owners in a beautiful spot by the window.

Right away you can see that they had lovely sweet smelling flowers on the tables, lit candles, and soft lighting to add to a romantic and soft atmosphere. I would consider this to be a classy place, although I don't get the vibe that anyone here would judge you either way if you chose to come in semi casual or even casual attire, as the day before when we peeked in there was a nice mix of all types of dress.

Most importantly, as I'm sure you're wondering about food and service, they care about the quality of their food here, and the happiness and prompt service of their patrons. Janique was our waitress, and oh my goodness, she is so wonderful. She gave off such lovely vibes as a person. She was professional, but also not stuffy like at some fancier places, I'm sure you know the type. She was actually very kind, was able to answer all of our questions, and was down to earth enough for us to have a few laughs. She was also SO on top of filling my water glass, haha I was very impressed. We also had a quick chat while ordering with the man (I believe one of the owners?) tending the bar, who was also a lovely individual. All in all, a great waitress experience. Thank you Janique and to the owners!

I also want to give a shout out to the chef, who we found out was named Reagan. The food was DIVINE. From start to finish everything we ate was more than just a meal, it was an experience. The plating was absolutely stunning (just look at the photos I posted, wow!) and the taste was just as wonderful as it looked. It's not often that a meal makes me want to stop and smell and appreciate it before eating it, but this was very much food that made me want to "stop and smell the roses" so to speak. Every bite took me somewhere relaxing and far away from my problems. It's hard to explain. Anyways, big shout-out to Reagan (hope I've spelled that right!) because she is a true ARTIST who knows what she is doing, and as long as she is cooking here, we will be coming back.

My partner and I unanimously decided that this will now be our go to spot for any future special occasions in the city. Highly recommend giving this spot a visit. It won't disappoint you anywhere from...

I don’t often make reviews for a business unless they truly stand out and tonight was a stand out performance!

My fiancĂ© and I went to the The Casual Canoe Bourbon & Craft Kitchen in Cold Lake tonight to help them celebrate 1 year of being open for business and they did not disappoint. Even though I’m currently chugging down the sober train tracks
their selections of bourbons are absolutely stellar and thankfully their non-alcoholic options were just as good!! Totally recommend the non alcoholic LOGO Hazy IPA 🙂

We started with the scallop appetizer, then our mains came out shortly after and we finished with a wonderful dessert. Because it was their anniversary we also got a gift for attending. This place deserves nothing but praise. We’ve been twice now and both times were so good they sit fondly in my memories. The service is perfection, the atmosphere is warm and inviting and the food is to die for. You can tell the pasta is homemade, the beef is so tender it falls apart, the dessert punch with flavour.

Congratulations on one year in business and I hope you continue to serve the community for many more...

I have eaten in restaurants in many locations, to know that this little gem is so close to home is truly a surprise. Nestled along the beautiful shore of Cold Lake, this establishment is worth the trip to Cold Lake! The atmosphere is exceptional and modern yet classic. The attention to detail is superb and the food - I literally licked the plate. Chef Raegan is a culinary master. I had the opportunity to thank her personally and felt like saying “oui Chef” because of my hours watching talented chefs on the cooking shows I watch 😂 George (owner) took time to share some of the history of this beautiful restaurant and made sure I was taken care in such a respectful way. There were several choices I wanted off the menu (lake trout yummmm) but eventually I chose the braised beef and it did not disappoint. Do yourself a flavour (see what I did there) and stop by for an experience that won’t break the bank, supports local and was exceptional.
