Brought my three daughters here. Their meals were completely fine, my only complaint has that we requested refills for my girls drinks and were told that children do not get refills, so I asked for water and the water never came. As far as my meal goes, I ordered a Montreal smoked meat sandwich. There is an option to have it on a waffle sandwich or in a panini (crepe) , and I said that I can't have a crepe and so I asked whether or not they can put it on regular bread. I said that I would have liked the waffle but it was a bit too much food. I can't eat the crepe because I'm allergic to egg, however I didn't specifically say that I was allergic to egg in that moment so that's my bad. Anyways, the sandwich came out with very little meat on it and an egg. So I asked her to please send it back and I mentioned that the reason why I couldn't have the Panini version of the sandwich with the crepe is because I am allergic to egg and I missed that there is egg in the panini montreal smoked meat sandwich, because I really only read the description for the Montreal smoked meat sandwich that was on a waffle (with no egg). Anyways, my sandwich came out cold about 10 minutes later. I ate a little more than half of one of the halves before noticing that there was bits of egg stuck inside the sandwich. I truly think that they took my sandwich, let it sit and then peeled the egg out and served it back to me. When I opened up the sandwich I found 3-4 noticeable chunks of egg. Trace egg is fine for me so eating at a breakfast place isn't usually an issue beyond the lack of choices.. But I can't have straight up egg in my food. I told the server to take it off my bill and bring me the bill immediately so that I could pay and leave. Also asked to speak to the manager while I was paying and thankfully he came over very quickly - got a half hearted apology before I had to rush out because I'd already begun to feet sick, difficulty breathing, heart palpitations etc. Insane to me that this restaurant heard egg allergy and opted to simply peel the fried egg out of my sandwich and hoped nothing would happen. Will not...
Read moreStopped in for a casual bite to eat and coffee. The service was friendly enough and the place looked relatively clean. Ordering our food from the colorful and tantalizing depictions on the menu was easy enough and we looked forward to the arrival of those yummy sandwiches...One which was a smoked meat wrap with a salad and the other was a nacho chicken and cheese sandwich on sourdough with a side of potatoes. Well what a shock when they came....They both looked as though they'd been smashed with a mallet, flat as pancakes. The salad was wilted and dry...The chicken nacho deal had been depicted as a stacked club sandwich with juicy pieces of avocado included along with the other "Mexican" ingredients....But alas what I had on my plate was nothing but a nasty looking flat and burned sourdough with an orangey filling of some corn chips mixed with processed cheese slice, black olives and a dry slice of chicken meat with what looked like a tiny smear of something green which we were told was the guacamole. Nothing at all like what was shown and described in the menu. I had to send the potatoes back as they were burnt, black sticky and stale. Obviously the cook scraped the leftovers from the grill and left them to sit to the side before deciding it would be a good idea to put them on a plate and serve to a customer. Not in the least bit edible. This item cost us 19.95.... The other horrible sandwich with the "smoked meat" like filling and nasty wilted salad cost $21.95 We couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. We paid, tipped and left. The bill came to a whopping $57 for 2 inedible sandwiches and 1 coffee..... absolute garbage food. But lesson learned and we will never...
Read moreWe've been to Cora's in multiple cities but this was the most disappointing experience. We honestly felt ripped off as a group.
I ordered the Chorizo Halloumi egg skillet which costed about CAD 24. This dish contained 90% potatoes and 5% veggies with couple slices of Halloumi cheese and 7-8 thinly sliced pieces of chorizo sausage (they probably sliced a SINGLE sausage link for this dish). I ordered scrambled eggs with it and was served an omelette that was torn into 3 pieces. My friend chose a different egg skillet (Montreal smoked meat) and he too had a potato fest in his dish.
They also had some stale complimentary fudge that had a metallic (or bloody) taste to it (hands down, the worst fudge I've ever tasted, if you can call it that).
When charging such exorbitant prices for those magic potatoes, you guys should consider serving more meat as well. Or reduce the pricing of the dishes instead of ripping your customers off. The dish I had was worth about half it's price!
We used to like Cora's. Unfortunately, not anymore and...
