Clarenville Big Stop — Restaurant in Clarenville

I eat here every time I’m in Clarenville. This time was noticeably different. We were rushed to order. The server asked several times before coffee was offered. We hadn’t had the opportunity to look at the menu when she asked again. I reminded her of our coffee request, and she moved away in a huff. The restaurant was not busy at this time. Everyone has a bad day. May be near the end of her shift? May be short staffed ? Fine it happens. The food was top notch. The soup was homemade like mom would cook. The open face roast beef sandwich/fries was excellent and huge. No complaints about the food as it was 10/10 as always. The prices have gone up a bit more than I experienced across the island on this trip. Not really in tune with other Big Stops. I hope our server was just having a bad day. But we will be back...

First time in a long time since I been there and it's gonna be an even longer time before I go back.. ordered breakfast with eggs over medium bacon toast and hash browns first of all eggs were very runny I only got 1and 1/4 pieces of bacon which was hard as a rock hash browns were very seasoned not like they use to be and toast wasn't homemade like it use to be .. so disappointed. There was so much wasted food all over the floors that wasn't cleaned up and they just kept assigning people to sit and still didn't bother to clean it the whole restaurant wasn't very clean.. waitresses were not very...

Had fish & chips, wife had hot turkey sandwich. Good portions but that’s the only positive. I’m guessing the fish was cod; hard to tell since it was overcooked and bland. Tartar sauce? Hot turkey sandwich likewise was bland with tasteless gravy. Fries were low grade. After food was delivered, only interaction with waitress was when she came and said “Here’s your bill.” Seriously?
