While visiting a family member, I passed through the area and stopped for lunch before heading back to Toronto. It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu offering a wide range of options. After much contemplation, I settled on ordering the Fish and Chips. I'm so glad I went with that choice because the fish was expertly battered and cooked to perfection, making it one of the most enjoyable fish and chips experiences I've had in a long while. The homemade tartar sauce served alongside the dish was exceptional, and the French fries were simply delicious.
I want to thank Robert, my server, for his attentive service throughout my dining experience. His professionalism and friendliness enhanced my overall experience at the restaurant. I also found the place's ambiance cozy and welcoming, contributing to the lovely, family-friendly atmosphere.
I would highly recommend this charming family restaurant to anyone in the area or passing through. It's certainly worth a visit for the fantastic food, excellent service, and...
Read moreWhen I walked in here, the place was packed. I saw many get the fish and chips, which was a huge portion and from what I heard, was a favorite for everyone. The menu has a variety of foods and I was driving through the town on the way to my destination. There was only one server so I knew to be patient. He was on point for all the customers and once he took your order, the food came soon after. The food was great, better than the average restaurant so I can see why it was so busy. I made sure I gave my appreciation to the server for all their hard work that day. Unfortunately, some people weren't patient or understanding that there was only one server. The person beside me got up and walked out after their order was taken. Not cool at all. I will definitely stop here the next time I take this trip again. The food is great, the people working there are professional and hard working and you can see, this place is a favorite...
Read moreA couple of weeks ago we had a great meal of Halibut Fish & Chips. We had been disappointed the last time we were here a couple of years ago, but a friend told us the new owners were doing it right and deserved a try. He was so right. The portions are quite decent and the food delicious. They attend to the little things too, like refills on coffee you really want to drink, what seemed to be a homemade tarter sauce, and a large enough lemon wedge to do the job.
The dining room is still quite basic, but seems to have been recently painted and brightened up. The wait staff were attentive and pleasant (Paige waited on us, and the cashier was very nice too). They now accept Visa and M/C.
Will really try to sample the other menu items on future visits, but with so few good fish & chip shops around, it will be tough not to do the same thing...
