Oh lord...another atrocious experience at the Comox McDonald's....this time it's too ludicrous not to write in about it. So my friend is feeling under the weather and we decide to pick up McD's for a treat. I go around to each child and take their order, writing it down on a piece of paper, for a total of 5 separate meals, each written clearly and separately, with the person's name next to it. I go to the drive-thru. The light-up screen is broken and there is a sign advising us that the ice-cream machine is also broken - no shakes for us...okay. So I read the order (or try) as the fellow on the other end says "is that everything?" after EVERY SINGLE ITEM I tell him despite me mentioning that it was a big order. Nothing is showing up on the broken screen and he does not offer to read it back to me. He says "38.84, please drive around." and I mention to him when I get to the window that it doesn't sound like enough $ for five people and could he check my list? He starts rapid-firing a bunch of items, and I could already hear some mistakes, so I offer the list again and he tells me to check it so I slow him down and have to stop him several times because there are many errors in it. He advises me that there are no double cheeseburger meals; that they are just like ordering the cheeseburgers themselves (I'm wondering - why, every other time, then, does every other previous McDonald's employee just 'get' to type in 2 double cheeseburgers, fries and a drink?, but not this guy?). He hands me back my list and tells me just to check my bags. I start to do so, find things wrong, and clarify with him the items which need clarification, and in doing so, dropped my debit card in the bag. He asks for payment, I panic a bit, it takes me AT MOST two minutes to find it in the bottom of the bag while they are still preparing the rest of our meals. I pay - by now the car behind me has been waiting some time and I am anxious to move on. I take the bags, thank the fellow, and drive back to my friend's house, only to find that everything is stone cold and that there are two fries and one double cheeseburger missing. My friend calls to complain about the missing items and is told in no uncertain manner that it is our fault from the time it took because "her friend lost her debit card for six minutes" - I wish I had been the one on the phone. They proceed to try to hang the blame on me (keeping in mind, they were still preparing our order while I looked for the card). My friend stands up for herself, and pushes a bit, and the lady on the phone offers to provide two more fries and the double cheeseburger. She asks "what about all of the cold, inedible fries that nobody is going to eat? We only live 4 mins from McDonald's; they should not be this cold." The lady offers to replace all five fries and the double cheeseburger. I go back down to the store. The kid ARGUES WITH ME SOME MORE and tells me that the average order is 300 seconds and ours was 700 seconds and that was why our food was cold! He seems to have forgotten about all of the time that he was correcting his mistakes and making more of them! I gave him the list to compare to his screen and he said it was fine - LAWD give me strength. They only gave us 2 fries and the cheeseburger - I wish I had known that they were supposed to give us five fries. I asked politely who my friend had been talking to on the phone. He said is was the manager, did I want to talk to her? I replied "No thank you, I was going to tell her about my experience, but if she's the manager, obviously it's hopeless." and I take my items and go. WHAT THE HECK are they teaching these kids about customer service? There is a manager that needs firing, or at least reprimanded with some courses in how to handle a) how to handle serving food in a restaurant so that 700 seconds ISN'T a problem; and b) how to handle customer complaints with professionalism and an ability to make the customer want to return rather than the experience we had tonight....

But the other staff that was there one of them had the name tag on and his name is Toby you can ask him who was that manager if you care a little bit for your customerss!!!! But this is the worst service I...
Read moreNot very happy with our experiences at this McDonald's location as of late. This evening's visit, after being told at the drive thru window that we would be waiting almost ten minutes for our grilled chicken breast patties to be cooked (assuming we had ordered more than what they had ready), I requested that we would like all three patties fresh please, not a mix of old and fresh..the associate helping us at the DT window then proceeded to roll his eyes at us and turn to speak with the cooks regarding our request. He came back to the window to assure us that they would all be fresh. We were then asked to pull forward into one of the DT parking spots ahead, as we were having to wait for our food. I asked for an extra paper packet for our kids to share the large fry we ordered. We were told that it would be no problem. We pulled ahead and waited as we expected. Food arrived: no extra packet for our fries as I had asked, no forks for our chicken breast patties, and two of the three breasts were fresh, the other not. All breasts in paper chicken nugget containers that dissolved in our hands before we could even hope to finish cutting the meat. Very disappointed...
