Disappointing Experience at Mega Sushi
I’ve been a loyal customer of Mega Sushi for a few years now, usually placing orders once or twice a month. I’ve always enjoyed their sushi, and the process is typically smooth—either I call in or stop by to place an order for later. Unfortunately, my visit today left me disappointed, and I’m not sure I’ll be returning.
I went in to place an order for a 3:55 pick-up, which I’ve done many times before. However, the interaction didn’t go as expected. I clearly mentioned I wanted to pick up my order at that time, the lady did not say anything on confirming she heard me or not, the lady then says what would you like? I then repeat my self again and add I don’t want them to start this order right away just to make sure, she said okay what would you like. I gave my order: a California cone, a dynamite cone, and a half order of spicy salmon sashimi.
She then told me they didn’t have a half order of spicy sashimi, which I’ve ordered before without issue. I mentioned to her that I’ve ordered it before and she cut me off said no, and insisted that they couldn’t do it because it wasn’t on her screen. When I politely explained I had ordered it before without problem, she kept saying no. It felt like she wasn’t even willing to check or offer any alternatives that would meet my request. Her tone was dismissive, and she didn’t give me the chance to explain myself fully. Instead of trying to resolve the situation
I ended up walking out without ordering because the lack of respect and refusal to even try to accommodate me left a bad taste in my mouth. I spend a decent amount of money at Mega Sushi each month, but I refuse to support a business where the staff treats customers poorly, especially when I’ve been nothing but respectful. I ended up ordering from Sushi California instead, and while the sushi is just as good, they treated me with the respect I deserve. It’s a shame, because Mega Sushi lost my business today over something that could have been easily resolved with a little courtesy and...
Read moreMy family and I have loved Mega Sushi for a very long time now and will always tell anyone who listens how amazing their food is. Today, I'm writing to tell you how in awe we are of the service we received at Mega! I placed an order for pickup, and when leaving to go pick it up, realized the battery in my car was dead. We had nobody else available to pick it up so I called the store asking if I could cancel the order and order through Uber Eats or just cancel it entirely. A very very kind man working there offered to DRIVE OUR FOOD TO US and delivered our food within 5 minutes of me calling !!! Cannot think of any other business that would offer to do this, and I am so grateful for their empathy, kindness, and exceptional service. Mega Sushi will continue to be our go to spot, and I cannot thank everyone there enough for their hospitality, warmth, and...
Read moreVisited this restaurant about 2 years ago, it was good then. In Apr, a friend suggested going and so we went with a positive expectation. It was a very disappointing meal and incomplete too as we had to adjourn to another restaurant later on. The rice of the sushi was chewy and hard, portions of the tempura and sashimi were very small in comparison with other sushi restaurants within the price range. The sushi rolls didn't taste good too. The sashimi slices were extremely thin - never had this experience before in the other sushi restaurants we visited, in fact theirs are even cheaper and the pieces were big. The server reasoned that they have more pieces, we know this is not true. I'm writing this review not to condemn but hoping that the owner will seriously look into this and improve their food and prices for the benefit of...
