Pizza Delight — Restaurant in Cornwall

I’m disappointed with this location where quality is dropping. I ordered two Super Donairs by phone for pickup. On arrival I paid for them it when they brought out the food it was only then that they told me they were out of lettuce….so they gave me (1)co tai er of donair sauce. I opened the box to check and found they had buried the tomato and onion under a blanket of sauce.( not appealing). As I was obviously upset they offered to go next door to the grocery store to buy lettuce . I told them I would like that but by the time they got back these would be cold. I asked for two new donairs. The cool was give a $5 bill from the til. Five minutes later (not enough time to go next door, but lettuce and return….) she was back and I saw her returning a $5 to the other counter mere a slip of paper. I heard her chopping lettuce in the kitchen but when the new food came out there was barely any lettuce on the donairs. I told her that if they did t have product she should have told me at the time of ordering. She told me that when she went for lettuce it was frozen and she didn’t want to use it, but admitted she could have called me. When I got home the lettuce was by no means fresh, and skimpy ( not up to PD standards) which leads me to believe she didn’t buy lettuce, but instead chopped barely enough of the frozen lettuce to use. We didnt eat the two donairs as we were skeptical of quality and are now out some $40. I have always been a client if pizza delight, however I will never darken this door again and they have lost a customer… of which I am very obviously not...

I recently took my 2 young grandchildren, aged 5&2, into this resturaunt for a treat, just Grampy and the 2 of them. The only complaint I had about the service was that, for an almost empty resturaunt, it seemed to take a long time to have our order taken. Sitting there with 2 young, active children was a bit stressful. There was no chocolate milk which surprised me. Kids settled for orange juice, an odd substitute but they don’t drink pop. My first drink was extremely flat cola, which I got replaced with a can of ginger ale. The kids pizzas looked okay and they ate them, but they certainly didn’t look very appealing, as commented on by the 2 year old. My panzeroti was disgusting. I ate some of it but, wasn’t a fan. My side of fries was okay, ordered to share with the kids. When it came time for desert, the promised ice cream Sunday from the included kids meal, was not an option; the excuse being that the cooler was broken. Not the fault of the waitress who was obviously prepared with a good excuse, but the fault by of the ownership / management.

I seldom write reviews about resturaunt food, but I’m finding the quality of food at many of the low to mid priced restaurants to be getting increasingly worse. This one in particular, we’ve gone to for many years, but after the 3rd poor meal in a row, we will not be back.

Advice to management / owner. Start thinking about your dwindling clients. They are dropping off fast, and if like me, will not be returning.

UPDATE: After reaching out twice directly to Pizza Delight in the last month at the email address they provided, we have still not received a reply.

We are regular customers of PD, they are our usual go to for pizza night because of their location. (But this was not our first negative experience) Last weekend we ordered through DoorDash and we’re notified our order would be ready in 30 min.

Upon arriving to pick up our simple order, we were told that it hadn’t been made yet and would be another 20 minutes. After 20 min it was still not ready and were told again we’d have to wait. When we inquired about canceling the order we were told that because it was place through DoorDash it wasn’t an option. An hour after the original pick up time our order was finally ready.

The manager was not friendly or apologetic. No offer of extra product or discount was made to make up for the inconvenience.

The food was good and consistent. Upon sharing our story with friends it appears we are not the only ones experiencing poor customer service at the Cornwall Pizza Delight. We’d like to support this local business but won’t until we hear things...
