Milano Coffee Courtenay — Restaurant in Courtenay

Really good coffee beans should have a roasted-on date labelled on the bag. In the last year, I have been disappointed with a few bags that were not that fresh.

My most recent visit was disappointing. On the Tuesday after a long weekend, they were out of whole beans. That's not the end of the world, but what happened next really upset me.

What annoyed me was the lazy and difficult young woman working the till. After informing me they had no whole espresso beans, I said I would take whatever they had. She motioned behind her and told me to get whatever I wanted from what was left behind her (behind the till). Usually, workers get the bags for me, but not this useless individual. Again, she told me to get what I wanted, and at this point, I snapped and told her to grab a bag from behind her. I'm super annoyed now, and still, she wants a tip! $0

I LOVED the old Comox location, and I miss it daily. I resent driving to this location to buy stale (sometimes) beans at a premium price and then being expected to tip for...

Success has ruined this place. I asked for a particular cookie in the glass case. Because I asked for the one closest to the front of the case, the young employee thought I was being rude. Didn't think much of ,as I am there at least twice weekly. However, two days later ,I came in and was told to never come back! Shocked 😲 A little Success has ruined this place. Robin,God bless him , would never have tolerated such actions from an employee. R.I.P. Robin. I have given that place SO much $ since they opened. I know that there is at least 3 friends of mine that,because of the way I was treated,have stopped going there. P.S. one can hardly here a conversation inside . I went into this cafe so excited to finally go , since my store sells there coffee......the girl at the till was nice and I enjoyed the coffee a d cinnamon bun ..however how the owner or manager treated me was shockingly very rude😐 I had gone to mexico for vacation and has some U.S money in my purse and wen t to pay with one canadian 5 and one U.S , I said just treat it like a 5 no exchange necessary, the young girl was like oh ill ask ...and a lady around corner said no ....😐 but not just that ,she had no explanation just no and peaked out without looking at us and was very rude just straight face No! And went back to her business.
