Domo Japan — Restaurant in Courtenay

I'm disappointed to be writing this review honestly. Really REALLY over priced for what you get. Didn't really have any flavour. The sauce was super bland, and had no flavour, the rice was mushy, chicken was weird. It was rubbery and over cooked, with a very small portion of soggy veggies on a bed of gloopy and mushy rice. Spring rolls where bready with basically no filling. Gyoza where okay, but not great.

I won't eat here again. For $26 for some actually pretty bad teriyaki chicken, a couple of small, bready spring rolls and a few sub par gyoza is NOT worth it. Way better options locally in the same price range.

Also as an additional note the guy cooking the food kept wiping his runny nose with the back of his hand and then continuing to cook and touch my food without washing his hands. Really kind of...

The owner asked us to leave her dining room because she wanted other customers to be able to sit and eat... But we had just paid for food and wanted to sit and eat like any other customer. I don't get how we took less priority than future customers... we were also there for less than 5 minutes prior waiting for our food, so not like we were taking up space for long in that empty dining room. The food is normal, like in any other Japanese restaurant in the valley but the staff members treated us badly. We were talking after we ate our food, talking normally, when one of the staff members asked us to leave. This had already happened once on my friends birthday, and today we went back and it was even worse. We were told we were annoying, and loud, and asked us to leave immediately.
