I have been going there since 2016 when my late friend introduced me to their wonderful soup and dining room. I have taken other friends there over the years, as well as my children and always enjoyed the atmosphere until tonight. My daughter and I went for supper and were looking forward to our little cafe, we walked in and were greeted by the waitress with a question and a straight face, no smile and she asked if we had a reservation to which I replied, "no". She said it would not be long and she would prepare a table which we waited patiently for about fifteen or twenty minutes as she went off to serve her other tables and even cleaned another table for a couple who came in just before and maybe forgot about us? The other gentleman working eventually told us to follow him and was about to sit us at a dirty table that still had another client's dishes so we waited for our table to be cleaned, which was all fine I understand things aren't perfect and they were very busy. (1 cook and two servers )We sat down and waited another 10-15 min. at least, to get menus and we were not served any water and waited another ten minutes to have our order taken. A couple came in and were instantly greeted with a smile and sat down at the table beside us that was cleaned up very quickly by the gentleman working and the waitress came and gave them water right away and smiled to greet them, which was noticeable because we were not greeted the same way at all! I had to ask her for some water and she did not smile and behaved as though we were irritating her by asking. The couple was right beside our table so it was hard not to notice the difference in the treatment and service. We received our food in a timely manner although the dumplings that we ordered were overcooked and very greasy and not worth 8.50$, we were not given plates to so we had to use our napkins so not to get the sauce all over the table. The soup was smaller than it used to be although the price went up by 4$ and the wontons were also much smaller, the noodles overcooked and I got a piece of carrot that tasted rotten and the green onions and cilantro were not fresh, you could see they were brownish and the cilantro had blackened edges. I was so hungry from working all day I just picked out what wasn't good and ate the now tiny wontons and onions and two small pieces of broccoli that made up this 14$ soup. The couple next to us received their food and were followed up by a prompt check in by the gentleman to see how their food was. A gesture that was not considered for us. Nobody checked on us and we even had to get up and get our own napkins that we needed. The waitress walked around with a water jug and filled everyone's water glasses, except ours. Our table was not cleared when we were finished eating meanwhile the servers were cleaning up tables from patrons who had already left. So we got up to pay at the counter and the waitress greeted us, asked us if we ate well, hardly even looked at me and did now smile (time to leave the tip right?) It was sad to be treated so differently compared to how they treated other tables and I paid for my food and didn't leave a tip because at this point I couldn't help but take it personally considering how well others were treated. She told me to have a good night with a sarcastic tone and when I returned the greeting and told her also to have a good night I got a very sour look. I have always enjoyed this place and even though I was polite and patient and smiley, I was treated very poorly. I can't figure out why, but considering the menu had no English translation and we were speaking English, and they made zero effort to speak English to us, I can't help but feel discriminated. It's with a heavy heart I leave this poor review, but what I experienced tonight with my twelve year old daughter is unacceptable and it was demoralizing. The plus side, is that my daughter now knows what discrimination looks like whether it was for our language or looks we will never know but I hope this helps somehow to share...

Read moreMy family and I love coming here. First thing I'll say is always get a basket of fries, no matter what you're eating, some of the best fries I've personally ever eaten.
The place is quaint and calm if you go on hours that aren't high traffic, it makes the experience that much better. Since its small, you have to keep in mind that it does tend to get full and loud, but it means happy people chatting away!
The pizza and paninis are good, had a matcha latte last time and it was delicious, just like I like it. We are always treated well when we go and the customer service is on point. The only thing that makes me sad is that they run out of their cheese fried fritters often hahaha, but I get it they...
