Would Eat Again, Even If It’s Not Chimichangas!!!!! Alright, buckle up, kids. I walked into Portland Street Crêperie expecting deep-fried, cheese-smothered, grease-dripping chimichangas. I even prepped my arteries for battle. But plot twist—this place sells crêpes. Which are basically chimichangas’ sophisticated, thin, fancy-pants cousins. At first, I was devastated. Heartbroken. Betrayed, even. I was ready to give this place one star out of pure, petty spite. But then I took a bite… and let me tell you, these crêpes are so good, they almost made me monogamous. Also, I wear red so no one sees me spill my food, which is lucky because the raspberry crêpe I inhaled looked like a crime scene. That sucker didn’t stand a chance. I devoured it with the same enthusiasm I usually reserve for taking down bad guys and avoiding my own movie sequels. Bonus: Wolverine was there. Yeah, you heard me. Ol’ Claws himself. Probably showed up because he thought the place served raw meat and cigars. But he stuck around, which means these crêpes pass the Wolverine Rage Test™. So yeah, 5 stars. No chimichangas, but still worth the trip. Will I be back? Oh, abso-freakin-lutely. Will I still wear red? Obviously. I spill a lot.

I had lunch there with 2 other people this Wednesday lunch (6/3/24) and we each ordered a savoury crepe (the pierogi, bon matin and chicken queso) along with a sweet one (the Jill), to divide among us 3. For drinks, 2 diet cokes and a bottle of water. The staff was really nice and offered an extra cup of diet coke on the house after one of my group's can of pop started fizzing out through the straw and overflowing. They constantly made sure we were enjoying the meal, and brought out "The Jill" as soon as we were done with our savoury crepes. A bit of a shame that the store is so small. Ventilation could be better (you'll quickly realize the frying smell after a few minutes inside the creperie). But I do understand its limitations and appreciate what they had (great location).

Worth savoring every bite! The Queen; I've had way more iny lifetime than I should admit & only ever tried two other crepes there (due to the owners recommendation to switch it up. The mushroom and a sweet one with berries). But oh my heart's on The Queen. Thank you for making such a savory & love filled food! Always grilled just right & packed full. I enjoy visiting Portalnd Street thereafter and seeing all the local shops and people walking about. It warms my heart. Not the best photo! I had to take it to go on my lunch break so I could brag to the out of province clients at work 🤭😎💖

Love the Bon Matin and Le Marais breakfast crepes and need to try ALL of them in time!! My only wish is that there was more seating. I'd go more often if it was easier to get a table, because I find take-out not as enjoyable. Friendly and patient staff, where I've overheard rude customers and staff handled them a lot more calmly than I would. Lol

Dec 2022: the ham & Swiss is very good as well, with Dijon. I added an egg to make it breakfasty.

Feb 2023: tried Le Fantastique (cheesecake, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, bananas, strawberries, chocolate sauce). It tastes as it sounds. Quite large in size so it was definitely a meal/dessert combo for me. This visit was around 1pm on a drizzly Monday so the place was almost empty.

April 2023: got in right before they were closing at 3pm to grab the special Easter crepe with Mini Eggs, Nutella and cheesecake pieces. Just as good as it sounds.

2nd visit April 2023: tried the chicken queso for lunch and very good flavor.

May 2023: the Lemon Sugar is very simple and thin, but fresh and perfect for spring.

June 2023: the mushroom melt is great for any mushroom lover obviously. Simple, sautéed, garlicky, but not too much mushroom to give any sogginess.

Nov 2024: the French Toast, from the sweet menu, is perfect, and not tooo sweet. The Queen (bacon, egg, cheddar, garlic aoli, roasted veg) is exactly what I've been waiting for all alpng and a great well rounded savory breakfast option.

Dec 2024: the candy cane cheesecake crepe is amazing! Beautifully decorated and not too sweet, as one would expect!

Mar 2025: came at lunch and was the only customer around 1pm. The Candy Bar crepe is so good, and surprisingly doesn't kill me with sweetness. Nutella, peanut butter & peanuts.

Apr 2025: The Flatliner: peanut butter, banana, bacon. Exactly as it sounds. Satisfying.

The Eat Your Veggies is probably the healthiest one on the menu, and still very good. Balsamic vinegar at the first bite gave it an immediate hit of strength of flavor. The sweet potato, peppers, tomato & onion fill up the crepe more than others I've had recently. Looks like grated carrot on top, but if it was, I couldn't tell. Pleasantly surprised overall...

I love supporting local business and used to go here a lot with my husband from 2020-2023. It was very affordable before but it has gotten so expensive it's no longer worth going. It costs about $20 per person if you get a coffee, which is on par with any high end breakfast restaurant in town. The location has cramped seating which doesn't seem to accommodate the volume of people that want to eat in here.

Despite the amount of people eating in, they prioritized online orders when we went. I went in with my husband and roommate, and our roommate ordered right after us, yet we had gotten our food and eaten it while our roommate watched. 5 minutes after we had finished he just decided to get his to-go. The reason it was so late they said was because of online orders. I would expect any business to prioritize in person customers so this was surprising and disappointing.

The food is really good but it's just not worth the price and I sadly won't be visiting anymore.

Edit: The online orders had nothing to do with the event yesterday as it was an in person event only. It wasn't extra packed because of the event either, there was no line; it's just a small space and they were prioritizing...
