I was parking in a no parking but loading zone what I believe to be the owner driving a Mini Cooper pulls up behind me it didn't notice my four ways on. Getting cuts and close to me giving me dirty looks not sure why either he doesn't understand parking spots or four way blinkers, he then parks in the parking spot out back for Celtic corner gets out puffs his chest up and stands there like he's gazing down at me trying to intimidate me like he's some kind of enforcer. I'm not sure if he realizes how creepy that looks as you don't know if he's crazy, or if he's just trying to make a person feeling uncomfortable. If the staff there are so unhappy starting their day or so unhappy going to their job perhaps there's something that needs to be changed there. But in no way on your way to work pulling into your business should you actually give people a hard time that are legally stopped for loading and unloading.

A good pub where you can find not just what to drink but to eat well to. The menu is quite big and varied. The atmosphere of the pub without some deep entourage but well maintained(Wood will always be held in high esteem). I liked the small half-wall between the common zone and the bar counter - stylish and convenient to create a comfortable feeling behind you when you sit at the counter and still be in the common space. Friendly staff. The prices are normal. My wife and I ordered Tall Ship beer and a lemon tea. Pretzel with mustard. And Trinity steak boxty and Steak & Guinness pie for main dishes. In fact, for a $5 I would like 2 Pretzels instead of 1, but if you are taking it as a snack. If you are taking it as a bread for the main meal, 1 is more than enough. Both main courses were very tasty but it was a bit disappointing that they gave us the same side dish in them.

I always walked around the Celtic house, given its close proximity to the Alferney landing, thinking I might go in and try their food someday. So one evening, I was able to convince my friends to join me after we saw they did have a vegetarian option in the menu. They ordered their burger with carrot soup while I ordered the chicken burger with fries. Sadly, all the burgers were quite bland and lacked flavors while having excessive oil in the chicken one. We also ordered nachos, but they were quite mushy and didn't seem the kind we were hoping for. We went in on a Saturday evening, so it was hard to find a spot. It can get quite loud. Our server was great, though. The food took a long while to arrive, but the place was packed, so it was understandable. Hoping for a better experience next time around.

Worse customer service wont be back... had to come home to cook my supper because the waitress/server couldnt be bothered bringing what we ordered. When I described the meal I wanted us to order she agreed it was the fish and chips and I showed her the piece of fish with my hands 'this big' and she agreed that it was this big and can cut it in half ...

....you cant imagine my shock then annoyance when she served something else and I was so angry I eat my 8 fries and 2x1 inch piece of fish and left the restaurant to come home to cook supper. I was with others which stopped me from sending it back...

But this waitress is suppose to know the menu ans better than me I stated several times 'the fish and chips this big' and I showed approx 10 inches and agreed with me so she knew she brought the wrong thing.. Had I been on my own I would have sent it back.

IT was clear she couldnt be bothered taking the order properly and if we didnt know what it was she had the onus to educate us she chose to just order the wrong thing ....Unpleasant experience and unenjoyable meal as it was the wrong meal...

She agreed with me when I said the particular meal of fish and chips. The meal she brought was not worth the cost and certainly could only split it with a child... it was not a piece of fish this big!!!! Never in my life have I ever had to go home and cook supper after I bought supper. Maybe CC has gotten complacent that it now rides on its laurels and forgot what servers are supposed to do and that customers expect to get what they ordered.

I left citing I had a meeting I didnt have so I didnt upset the others supper but I had to remove myself from my company because I was so angry at such incompetence that ruined my meal and experience .To actual force to eat the meal I didnt order to have me so angry I couldnt talk.... I did speak to the server before I left and of course she had excuses yet those at my table heard what I ordered... and seen I didnt get...

Went here last week for lunch with a family member during Truth and Reconciliation Day. We were looking for some place different and I had heard good things so decided to give it a try.

After joking with someone in the main restaurant about how you had to go through the Joseph Howe "park" and cross to the parking garage we ascended the stairs to a lovely rooftop patio. It was vibrant with some fun paint choices and decorations and some good music at just the right volume so as not to make it hard to hear conversation. The views of the city and harbor were amazing. It was also very clean despite there appearing to be only one server at the time.

The server was polite, and well put together which you could see via his being well-dressed and groomed. He was knowledgeable about their service and able to answer a couple of questions off the top of his head.

He was also very accommodating and had no problem with us switching tables before our food came due to being right next to some women who seemed to be enjoying a few spirited beverages that afternoon. I could see they were clearly enjoying themselves and I was happy for them but their boisterous laughter and chatting made it a little hard for us to carry on our own conversation.

Our order was taken and our food was delivered in a very timely manner. You could tell the food was hot and fresh. I wanted to try something outside of my usual orders so I ended up getting a potato pancake which was filled with greens and steak strips. It was delicious and I'm so glad I tried something different. My fries were also hot and fresh so really enjoyed them as well. My family member had the shepherd's pie and commented on how it was the best thing they had had in quite some time.

The server was polite and easily maked small talk while we were paying the bill. He managed to make my family member laugh at something witty he said.

Will definitely be going here again in the...

My friends and I have been Celtic Corner regulars for the last 12 years. It's our go-to spot after work every Friday and we love it...until the band starts. There is about 3 or 4 regular bands that rotate playing Fridays, 3 of which are wannabe rock stars who think everyone is there to see their "concert" ...so they better turn it up LOUD! It's a huge joke between the regulars and the bar staff, all of who feel the band is too loud, but if you ask them to turn it down, they just laugh and say no. We sit at the back of the restaurant and you have to literally scream across the table to talk. It's ridiculous. We are frequent pub goers in our 30s so we're use to live music, it's not like we're elderly. Last week another pub opened up next to Celtic (New Scotland Brewing) so when the band refused to turn it down, we left (actually the band told us to leave if we found it too loud...would love the management to hear that the band is telling regulars to leave!). Anyway, we make our way over to New Scotland Brewing and low and behold, there are TWO other groups of Celtic regulars there. We asked them why they weren't at Celtic...they said the music was too loud!!! I just want the management to know that your bands are driving business OUT not in. People want to chat, live music is nice but it shouldn't drown out everything else, after all we didn't buy tickets to a show!! I'm not going to say we won't be back because we like Celtic, but from now on Fridays will start at Celtic for a beer or two, and end at New Scotland yard for the last 5 or 6. With others doing the same it's going to amount to a lot of pints that are drank at New Scotland Yard that would normally have been...
