Searched online to find a great brunch , came across Cafe Archibald. Looked quaint, clean and had good reviews so off we went. Entered the building , had a good vibe. We waited a few minutes and were seated in a corner table , Perfect! Read the menus for 20 minutes , and finally a waitress presented herself, seemed Lovely. We placed an order for drinks and brunch , drinks arrived and then we waited. And we waited , and waited. We watched as the waitress served tables around us , they ate and drank and paid their bills and left. The waitress did not return to us , so after 60 + minutes, I approached the front counter and asked about our order!! The lady at the counter questioned our waitress and her response was " oh, it should be coming soon" . This is over an hour of waiting !! I asked the waitress if she could check and bring us some water. She came to our table with ONE glass of water, there were two of us . I again asked her how much longer for our food , she said she would check. Came back to advise us it would be 5 minutes. Fine, I've waited this long we can wait another five minutes. We waited past the 5 minutes, and she appeared with the plates . To be honest, it was bland. Definitely not worth the time that we waited. We quickly ate , and I proceeded to the front counter to again speak to the waitress . I asked her "out of curiosity, did you forget to send our order to the kitchen ? " She took no responsibility, and said it was busy, it was a training day and there was a connection error! There was no apology, there was no accountability. I explained to her that I understand customer service and people make mistakes but this was the absolute worst scenario we have ever encountered in a restaurant. No one offered to check on us while we waited , no one offered to refill our drinks , NOTHING. We were given a 15% discount, which amounted to $4. I explained to the waitress that I don't think she was getting what I was saying, she continued to revert back to it being a training day. I confirmed with her , that she was NOT in training. There was no apology, NOTHING. Never had such poor customer service in my life . I sincerely hope that someone at this establishment reviews the policies that should be in place in which a customer arrives...
Read moreThis used to be one of my favorite restaurants, however the management of the establishment and the quality of my experiences have gone downhill in the last few years. My latest experience left me disappointed. I ordered take out on the phone, the server reviewed my order, I confirmed it was correct, and I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I pick it up, bring it back to work and open the take out box to find a half eaten pizza. I had ordered a crepe. My partner went back to the restaurant with the half eaten pizza, the server said she understood "pizza" on the phone (but when she reviewed my order, had said "crepe with no bacon", which was what I ordered). My coworker called the establishment, asking if there could be any kind of compensation, where the server simply said "we've rectified the situation by making the crepe again" and that if we wanted any type of compensation, to call the office and explain to them the situation. The servers never offered to reimburse the price of the crepe, and when asked if they could, refused.
When I finally received my crepe, the eggs inside were not cooked and left my crepe slimy. I ended up being late to another engagement, which I had planned to arrive on time, had my order not been forgotten.
I've worked in the service/restaurant industry, and this is not a way to deal with this type of situation. I'm sad to say I won't be recommending this restaurant to...

The place was very cold had to keep our coats on. 1st the sandwiches were very good, but the fricot tasted like hot water. We had our meal and when our server asked us how it was we politely told her. We were still willing to pay for our meal's but she said no she would take the soups off the bill. Then she came back and said she couldn't. When I spoke to the manager I found out that they would discount me for one soup as they gave us the wrong small size and the would do nothing about the taste.
