We are family of 4 (with 2 kids) visited the Huntsville's Eastside Mario's restaurant during our vacation on Dec 16, 2022. We are regular customers to Eastside Mario's at our hometown. We ordered a full meal Chicken Parmigiana pasta which comes with all you can eat salad/soup and a Pizza, which is normally enough for us.
We were told we are not allowed to share the salad, otherwise the all you can eat deal is off! The waitress who named Cathy/Katherine (she said either one is fine) kept an eye on our table whenever she passed by to make sure no one is sharing the salad! Our kids were hungry so they shared the salad with my husband and we lost the all you can eat salad deal and not allowed to refill for free unless we paid.
This is just ridiculous! We never knew Eastside Mario's has such harsh rule!! It's a Italian restaurant and Italians love sharing foods! Not only that, we always find customers at Eastside Mario's sharing foods including salad and soup! This doesn't make sense to us at all! If it's not allowed to share, why provide tong for the salad?!
When questioned, she said if we ordered "another" full meal with all you can eat salad/soup, then it will be no problem sharing! What kind of logic is that? (I am not talking about the Pizza as we do know it is just a la carte). It truly sound like a threat! We cant' even finished the pizza at the end and asked for take out. We are just a small family with 2 kids for god sake! There has no warning or instruction anywhere in the restaurant nor the menu! We told her our kids only took small portion of the salad because they were hungry! She said we should order small Caesar salad for them!!!! Totally unreasonable and unprofessional!!
We noticed other table people are sharing salad as well (which has always been the case whenever we are at Eastside mario's)! How do all the servers keep an eye on every table to see who share the salad or what not!!!! We truly do not believe this is the rule because we have been to other eastside mario's restaurant and people do not TRACK who is sharing salad/soup!
Will not go back again for sure even though we visit new our cottage often at the location with family and friends! Won't recommend it either because it just slap you on the face it's an Italian restaurant (Italian loves to share foods with family and friends) but you are not allowed to share the so called all you can eat salad unless...
Read moreBy far the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. It started off with our super unprofessional and unfriendly server Larissa who didnât even bother welcoming us or explaining the all-you can eat menu. We asked her a few questions regarding food on the menu and she replied that she wasnât sure (instead of just going to the kitchen and double checking) Without asking our preferences, she brought random salads to the table, without even specifying which ones were which. After that, we asked for the garlic bread included in the menu, that should have been brought before the salads and she replied, âI didnât bring it because since some are having pizza, it wouldnât make sense to bring garlic bread with pizzaâ. Excuse me! What? If itâs included, you bring it, period. Or at least ask if weâre interested in having it with the pizza! Donât assume no one wants it. Anyways, the garlic bread ended up coming at the END of the meal basically. As did the dips for the pizza. During our meal, NEVER did she ask if everything was ok, if we were satisfied or in need of anything else. Had she asked, I would have asked her if the pizza was supposed to come so undercooked (image above). She obviously noticed I left leftover pizza full of tomato sauce, but she never cared to ask a thing. While we were still eating, she rushed us, asking TWICE in 5 minutes if we needed take-out boxes to pack our food! A few minutes later she asked how we were splitting bills (again-we were still eating. You either ask at the beginning or at the end. Not during a meal!!!) Right away she brings us our bills and the machine with some of us STILL eating our mains, without even asking if anyone wanted any dessert or anything else for that matter! At this time we were all utterly in shock with her poor service!!! The restaurant was basically empty so needing space for new guests was certainly not the reason for her rushing us and neither was the time because it was still around 7:30pm. She over-looked at the machine while were paying for our bills and then THREW them, (YES, SHE THREW THEM!!!) at the table and stormed off to the bar and yelled, âthey literally didnât tip meâ to her colleagues. Note: i was the only one that didnât tip her as the rest of the table did, out of...
Read moreOh man, where do I even start.
Well. After a long day of playing and swimming with the kids at deerhurst resort, my family of 4 plus grandma, aunt and uncle decided to go for dinner. We chose eastsides Mario's.
We went on new years day, which was Wednesday this year, and Wednesday is AYCE pasta night. The place was empty when we arrived, but I quickly picked up
So the adults ordered (basic-noodles, sauce, and 1 topping for a fee) Pasta. Kids had chicken fingers and also ordsliders. We also ordered drinks I think aunt and uncle had a beer and a wine and the rest of us had water.
the water and juices arrived and then we ordered the first round of food, which mine ararrived, mine without the topping that I requested which was simply mushrooms.
I asked the waitress "where are the mushroom?" she says oh I'm so sorry they must have messed it up let me get it remade for you.
After waiting for I'm pretty sure it was half an hour I finally received my bowl of penne noodles with a little bit of bolognese sauce and a couple of sliced mushrooms to which it was good I ate it.
Everybody else had finished round 1 and requested refills on there all you can eat pasta.
I finished my first bowl, requested a refill of a different variety ( bowties, Alfredo and cheese) which the waitress said was okay.
Then everybody finished their second-round. the waitress forgot to bring the kids desserts, which we had ordered with her when she came for the first round of refills.
and then she came back to our table and asked us how we wanted to pay all together or separate bills and if we need the debit machine.
I was still waiting for my food my kids were still waiting for their dessert and my aunt and uncle were still waiting for their drinks.
Then we noticed discrepancies on our bills. And our waitress told us it was her mistake, and declined to adjust our bills accordingly.
The fact that she was apologizing made me feel bad for her, but our orders were very simple and she was full of excuses. I won't put names up here cause that's just mean.
On the whole, if you're hungry in Huntsville, go anywhere else. And...
