SUSHI YA MATCHA — Restaurant in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

I read the reviews and I really don't understand. I didn't have the same experience at all! One item was missing and "replaced" by others I didn't order (and didn't want for that matter). No note, no call. Another item was not the right one (close enough but not quite). One of the specialities was very good, another one good enough, the rest really tasteless at best. Ordered through Uber so maybe that's the reason but very expensive for the quality of food. Sashimi and fish in general tasted watery and not fresh.

I don't know how they got such good ratings. Maybe they had a bad day with us... But man that was a bad day! I've eaten better quality sushis at chain restaurants and that's a heavy thing for me to say! Sorry for the tone but I hate wasting food... Ordered for delivery for the first time, the presentation was beautiful and the food looked fresh. I was somewhat disappointed that they mix sooo much tempura flakes in the ‘spicy salmon’ maki, the spicy tuna chef’s special, and the DDO maki, that I could barely taste the difference between the rolls (one is salmon, one is tuna, and one is scallop/crab…). If you’re new to eating sushi then this is a great place to start, as there isn’t that much fish in the rolls and the flavour is mild. However, the fish that was there was fresh and tasted good. Service was great, they were super kind, the atmosphere was excellent and beautiful, the music was calming and soothing, the food was not the best I've had, but the top 5 !! Would recommend, again, very beautiful and amazing and soothing. It would be wonderful for a date or maybe just to be by yourself and get some good food! I'm making this review before our desert, so I'll add the dessert later!!
