came here with my family and some friends as our first time, we had 5 people and the girl with the big eyebrows tells us to sit in the corner, however there’s 5 of us and it would’ve been uncomfortable so we sit at the table next to it, the first thing she says when she comes over is “i guess this table works too”, and my mom laughs and says “sorry it’s just this one wasn’t comfortable” and she says to my mom “oh, so you’re the superstitious one?” which is a weird question but we thought she was being friendly. it takes about 10 minutes for her to even get us drinks, but when she comes my mom asked if she knows how to make a tom colins, to which the server very bluntly and passive aggressive tone says “are you going to tell me what’s in it?” now the tension was building. we then wait about 15 minutes to order our food, which everyone else gets steak and shrimp and i get a caesar salad. i tell her i have a shellfish allergy and i know that anchovies are used it the sauce, that is completely fine. she then goes to tell me “no, no you can’t, there’s a fish in there” and i said “yeah anchovies” and she keeps telling me that she can’t because she doesn’t know how they’re handling the food back there. i end up getting my food (the salad) and so does everyone else, and their steaks i can’t speak for since i didn’t eat them but they looked grey, extremely overcooked and underseasoned. honestly this place would’ve been better if they had a waitress who didn’t act like she was too good to work there and was actually friendly, it would’ve made the experience better despite the food, but she was extremely unfriendly, extremely passive aggressive with everything she said and they don’t even have real receipts to print out. i’ve had the pizza from here, so i know they have great food, it’s just such a shame that it’s ruined by poor customer service. i hope they replace her with someone who is happy to do...
Read moreAmazing little family owned and operated restaurant that has the best pizza and baked pastas I've had in a very long time! We ordered an XL dallas special and a baked spaghetti, and we have leftovers for lunch and dinner tomorrow. They do pizza the traditional greek way - almost like deep dish, but loaded with toppings and cheese rather than just being a deep crust, and cut in squares, not pie style. Honestly, I can't believe that in todays inflationary economy they can afford to put this many toppings and this much cheese on an XL pizza and charge just $32. If you are thinking $32 is expensive for a pizza, I don't think you've bought groceries in a long time or looked at the latest price of cheese. I reiterate, this is a small family owned business - they are not a franchise and do not get franchise chain supplies, so yes their prices are higher than say Dominos, but you have to consider what you get for what you are paying. And I don't know what type of cheese this restaurant is using, but I know everything tasted like quality ingredients and they are not short cutting their customers on quality. Even with our baked spaghetti, the kitchen accidentally made it as a to go order initially so they moved it back to an oven dish and added cheese and baked again so there wouldn't be any spots without cheese. In terms of service, we thought they were lovely and gave off such a wholesome family vibe that is so rare these days. We arrived at 7:45 after the dinner rush, and it allowed us to get the best service possible, and now that we have seen their absolutely adorable family dynamics at work there could be a 2 hour wait for food and I wouldn't care because I will be coming for the quality and I understand how hard it is to run a family owned business like this. I can't believe I've lived in the area for so long and never tried this place, but I will be here...
Read moreIn the heart of the city lies a charming, unpretentious eatery that takes diners on a nostalgic culinary journey. Stepping into this restaurant feels like a delightful time warp, where the decor, albeit dated, adds to the overall charm, evoking memories of simpler, carefree times.
The true star of the visit was undoubtedly the pizza. The dough was a standout, boasting a thicker, chewy texture with a perfectly crunchy exterior that provided a satisfying contrast. Each bite was a delightful mix of flavors and textures, showcasing a mastery of the basics that sets this establishment apart from more modern counterparts. The toppings were generous and well-balanced, enhancing the overall pizza experience without overwhelming the palate.
However, the same cannot be said for the lasagna. Despite being served piping hot, it lacked the depth of flavor expected from a classic dish. Rather than the traditional layered composition, it arrived more as a bowl of noodles mixed with meat sauce and topped with cheese. While it did not meet the expectations set by other dishes, it still provided a hearty meal, albeit not one that would be remembered fondly.
Service was friendly and welcoming, contributing to the warm atmosphere that diners have come to appreciate. However, it was sometimes challenging to get the attention of the staff, which slightly detracted from an otherwise pleasant dining experience.
Overall, this establishment excels in providing a comforting, nostalgic dining experience. The pizza alone is worth the visit, making it a notable spot for anyone seeking a taste of the past with the warmth of genuine...
