After spending some time on Main St browsing the little shops, ended up having lunch at Maddies. This place is great! Everything about it - window display to the ambiance and all the little details that decorated the place intricately tied everything together. Because of our group size, we were accommodated in the small room to the side - "The Rabbit Hole". Although it was off to the side, we never felt forgotten about. The ladies who were serving us were dropping in to make sure we were always ok and our teapots were always filled with hot water. For lunch, I had the Chicken Pot Pie and it was paired with a salad and fresh bread - highly recommend. The house dressing was pink and nothing I had seen before however, to my surprise was DELICIOUS! I also had a small bite of the quiche from someone in the group. It was fluffy, and packed with fresh veggies - almost wished I had ordered the quiche as well as my pot pie. Taking advantage of the size of our group, was also able to take a taste of a number of the items on their dessert menu. Diet definitely went out the window! The cakes were so good to be pared up with a cup of coffee. When visiting Maddie's you also have to make sure you save some room for scones and devon. They are DEVINE. From the moment you walk in, to the customer service, to the fresh and tasty food - such a great experience and only wish that they were closer...
Read moreI booked (and confirmed reservations beforehand) for a September 10th afternoon high tea to celebrate my 10 year old grandaughters birthday with her 1st time high tea experienced. Waited this long to post my review because of how dissppointed I was. Attended with my DIL, granddaughter and my sister (grand aunt). Shop is adorable and cozy...and that's where the enjoyment ends. Service was terrible - mediocre welcome and seated by 1 inexperienced server. Table was wobbly, too small to properly seat 4 of us with our 2 trays and 4 pots of tea. Server was young lady who seemed to rather be somewhere else. They had our reservation under wrong name; daughter in law had water spilt on her by the server and then almost scalded with pot of hot tea! Thank goodness she moved just in time and tea ended up on floor, all arpund her feet . Not even a single attempt made by server (where was a manager?) to apologize or compensate us for this terrible incident. Food was just ok...kinda skimpy. Will not be going back. Definitely prefer the Toronto location high tea venues where prices would be same (about $150.00 for the 4 of us) but definitely better service...

In the cute little town of Erin I am so glad I found this beautiful little place From the moment we walked in, Maddie Hatter’s transported us into a whimsical wonderland. The décor is straight out of a storybook—charming, cozy, and full of character. The attention to detail was magical, and every corner felt like it had a story to tell.
The high tea itself was absolutely delightful. Each tier was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. The scones were warm and buttery, the finger sandwiches fresh and flavorful, and the selection of sweets was a dream for any dessert lover. And let’s not forget the tea—fragrant, rich, and served in the most adorable teacups.
What truly made the experience special was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do, they made us feel right at home.
Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want to treat yourself to something magical, I can’t recommend Maddie Hatter’s enough. It was an experience full of joy, laughter, and delicious memories. We’ll definitely be...
