Returned from Minot today and stopped in Estevan on the way for a small bite and rest.
Stopped at Blackbeards as it looked pretty ok, like a local hangout. Went in and stood for about 10 mins waiting to be seated as they had a sign. A gal came out and shouted across the place “for 2?” My husband said yes and she gestured to the other side of the place. Unsure if which of the seven tables she meant we walked to the first empty one we saw. Never saw that gal again until leaving. An older lady came over with two menus and asked about drinks. We both got water. She took our order, hubby had poutine and I just got cheese toast. Same gal brought out the food dropped it and left. Never came back. Disappointed with the whole thing. Small plate of poutine and 1 slice of cheese toast was $15 as some change. Never asked how anything was and never checked on. No tip left as nothing earned. If you decide to stop to eat in south Estevan go anywhere but here. Guess if you aren’t a regular you don’t count. The table that came in after us got all the bells and whistles. Wouldn’t even tell us the soup of the day. Go across the street to DQ at least you know what you get there. Rate...

By the time she had returned with our drinks she had greeted and seated the second table, gotten their drinks, and placed their food order. She finally brings my coffee, but forgot the cream, no worries, I ask a second time, she takes our food order and off she goes, not to be seen again until the food is brought to our table, when I ask once again for cream for my now cold coffee, she apologized and said she would be right back with it. She was not. I settled and drank my cold black coffee with my meal, until the waitress returned to see if I'd like a refill, and with one final ask, I got my cream and was able to enjoy one cup of coffee.
Its unfortunate that at a slow time of day we were provided with...
