Mae's Place — Restaurant in Fort Erie

Had the fish and chips. After knowing food throughout Kensington Market in Toronto (which has the best food in Toronto), and everywhere from British Columbia through Ontario, New York through Las Vegas to the Caribbean, I have to say this fish and chips is simple and perfect. This will be our new fish and chips place. Don't have the words to describe its perfection. Wish the order of fries was slightly larger but you can just get a side order of fries if you're a fries-guy like me.

Update: You can get a side-order of small or large fries. The large is ACTUALLY a large fries (as compared to most places that aren't) and it is both 1) reasonably priced and 2) huge quantity.

Words can’t describe this slice of heaven that exists along a rural road between Niagara Falls and Fort Eire. The food is home cooked and prepared fresh daily. Coffee is excellent. I had the club sandwich and my fiancé had the fried egg sandwich with bacon and cheese. Both were cooked to perfection. The club sandwich was especially delicious. The side of fries were the best - kind of a fish and chips style but thin cut - crispy outside and soft and fluffy inside. For desert we shared a Coconut Cream Pie which I cannot praise enough(made in house). If we had room on the motorcycle we would have stashed one for home. Cute little family type restaurant. The food is very tasty and the portions always leave me full with a little extra to bring home for later. The menu, though not huge, has a great variety ... something for everyone. The staff is very friendly and prompt and the restaurant itself is very clean. The only downside to this restaurant is that there is no parking lot so if you go at a time when it is busy you could spend a few minutes looking for somewhere to park, especially if the surrounding businesses are also busy.
