We were trying Senegalese food for the first time. Chef Fatou was very warm, pleasant and welcoming. I had the special of the day: shrimps and grilled fish with plantains and rice. The portion of rice looked more like a side than a meal. My partner had the jollof rice with plantains and chicken and this was a decent portion size. The restaurant is quite comfy. I didn't like that the washrooms felt quite deserted at the back of the building.

I dont know how she makes these things so good! These are absolutely delicious and they were really cheap. If you want a cheap lunch this is the spot for you. The owner also came and talked to me and she is so sweet. What a great business owner

The dining room at Fatou's is very comfortable and warming, physically and visually. She makes easy conversation and has a beautiful, giving soul.

Her food tastes divine. I very much enjoyed her Senegalese chicken and rice dish, I think she called it "special rice," but I have poor time remembering names. The salad was perfectly seasoned with some sort of vinaigrette, the rice had the right amount of savory flavor and density, the cutlery managed the juicy chicken better than even my home silverware, and it paired well with the iced tea I ordered crisp and cool.

The dish was priced quite reasonably, a modest $15 for a filling lunch, something the market isn't quite humble enough to match. I don't like eating out, and the ease at which unhealthy, sickening fast food chains are accessible certainly displeases me, but I am thankful the art of making actual food is alive in...

Those who know, know! If you’re looking for something so delicious you write home about it, look no further. Fatou’s spices are made fresh each time, the meats are generous cuts and quality is so good. It’s unlike anything I’ve eaten before or since. Her fataya are the perfect combination of light and crispy pastry with hearty portions of spiced meat filling, the oxtail is to die for, the special rice chicken comes stuffed with pockets of herbs -all the things you want in a delicious meal. Food by Fatou will quickly become a regular haunt for anyone who loves to eat well! You...

All I can say is WOW!!

I’ve never had Senegalese food before but man I’ve been missing out!! Saw the reviews on Google and decided to give it a try. I’m from Toronto and I know what real good food is.

We had the lamb jollof, the Senegalese rice and the fataya. Everything was incredible and bursting full of flavour. But the star of the meal was the lamb jollof, including the rice it came with. Saucy, spicy and soo delicious.

Do yourself a favour and come eat here!!

I wish Food by Fatou was in Toronto so I could eat it again :)

Hands down the best tasting food in...
