Where I can start ? Last year, we bought the strawberries mousse cake for my son birthday. It was ok but there was a lack of taste. During this year, we bought the cheddar and cheddar/bacon bread and these are DELICIOUS. We would like to give another try with the birthday cake. Today, we bought the black Forest cake for the same son that I bought the strawberries mousse cake last year...and, again, it was a big disappointment. It was a lack of taste in every part of the cake except the liquor. The cake was too much liquid that pass through the box, it collapsed. The chocolate cake taste nothing and was like a sponge. The Chantilly cream was not a Chantilly and taste, again, nothing. And the cookie at the bottom of the cake, what is that ? I never seen a cookie base for that cake and it wasn't good. So finally, I bought a 40$ cake to taste nothing. Just for the two experience with my ordered cakes, I give a 2*. I'm very disappointed. I definitely recommend the bread !!! I can't say the same thing for the cakes. I will go somewhere else for that.

For a bakery in a small town, you would expect at least good customer service and understanding. I went in today to get a sourdough bread and I am pretty disappointed. I am a big fan of sourdough cause of its low-to-no sugar content. I wish I paid more attention to the nutrition content before I left the store. I went back after getting into my car and spoke to one of the employees. She checked their binder and told me a slice of their sourdough bread contains 6g of sugar and that they do add sugar to aid fermentation. A lot of people, especially people with diabetes eat sourdough because there is no added processed sugar. Most sourdoughs have approximately 0g of sugar. If you are someone who cares about what you put in your body, I would definitely skip this place. No nutritional label whatsoever, and once you get any food item, they are not willing to refund you, regardless of the reasons, even if it has to do with false/bad production or your health. Never going back.

I purchased a carrot cake here for my husband’s birthday. He didn’t want a gift so I figured I’d at least get him a “good cake” from a “real bakery” so I was willing to pay the whopping $45 dollars they charge for it expecting it to be stellar. I ordered it ahead of time and picked it up promptly on his birthday and served it that same night. What a disappointment. The cake was terrible. It was dry as sand, stale tasting, with a minuscule layer of what was supposed to be cream cheese frosting inside and out. If there was any cream cheese in that frosting I couldn’t taste it at all. My husband was polite about it but I could tell that he was disappointed. I felt like I ruined his birthday with this awful cake. It was the only thing he had to celebrate his birthday. I will never buy a cake from the happy baker again and I doubt I’ll ever chance buying anything else either.

The Happy Baker is a cozy, flavor-packed bakery that delivers comfort and quality in every bite. Their breakfast sandwiches are the star of the show—especially the BOMB (Back Off My Bacon) sandwich, which lives up to its name with crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, and melty cheese layered between fresh bread. It’s the kind of sandwich that hits the spot morning, noon, or night.

If you’re a bread lover, don’t leave without grabbing a loaf of their sourdough. It’s perfectly crusty on the outside, soft and tangy inside—a must-buy staple that elevates any meal. The sourdough twist cheese bread is another treat, slightly salty but still incredibly tasty, especially when warmed up.

Dessert lovers will be thrilled with the selection. From rich peanut butter balls to decadent pumpkin pie squares and creamy coconut cream squares, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth. Each treat feels homemade and indulgent, perfect for sharing—or keeping all to yourself.

The Happy Baker combines friendly service with a menu that’s both comforting and crave-worthy. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or stocking up on baked goods, this spot is a delicious destination that never...

I’ve been visiting Happy Baker since they were a one-location operation on King Street. Although I was sad to learn that the old Tingleys/Quiznos/Beaver Tails on Dundonald shut down, I was very pleased to discover that Happy Baker took over operations for the entire operation.

Here, you will find Happy Baker’s standard baked goods offerings, including favourites such as fresh baked loaves of bread and pastries such as the coconut cream slice and the blueberry cheesecake tart. As well, Happy Baker dishes up both hard and soft ice cream and a full menu of prepared sandwiches.

On the ice cream front, I took advantage of Happy Baker’s soft serve options. In addition to the standard vanilla and chocolate varieties, they offer around 30 other flavours. Being a fan of whoppers, I went for the malted milk option, which was lightly flavoured and came piled high in a sugar cone.

Be prepared to wait, sometimes, as employees may have to bounce between the pastry, sandwich and ice cream counters. But, it’s worth it for the...
