A&W Canada — Restaurant in Front of Yonge

Second and last visit: Accidentally came back one year later. Still a solid 1. They don’t let you fill your own pop and mine was far from full. Both my son and I had no tomato in our burgers. Gave only one pack of ketchup per order of fries. Zero customer service. Next time we stop here, it will be for Subway for sure.

First visit: Order terminal malfunctioned after I entered my credit card pin so I didn’t get a receipt. When I explained the situation and showed which order was mine on the screens, rather than check on their end if the ordered was paid or simple wait to see that no one else was going to pick it up, I was told to provide proof of payment. I had to login to my credit card account online and show the transaction. Clearly, if I hadn’t paid for my order it would not have gone through and they wouldn’t have it in their system. I was made to feel like a criminal after an issue with their system. By the time the issue was resolved, our food was cold. And it added time to what was supposed to be a pit stop. To top it off, our onion rings were terrible, with the coating all falling off and I had a total of 2 pickle slices after paying 50 cents for extra pickles. And I didn’t get the extra tomatoes I requested. At least they didn’t charge me for those. Worst ever...

We were here on Victoria Day weekend during the daytime and there were only three employees two cooking and one at the front.

This is not a complaint about the employees they're doing their job it's a complaint about the Frugal owners who don't care about their staff.

You knew that having three people is not enough.

The two Cooks were cooking fast and the food was not coming out slow the issue was the front one person was taking orders and packing food you should have had two people at the front.

One person packs the food one person takes orders.

Is Victoria Day weekend it's not a normal weekend so there will be a lot of people traveling between Ottawa and Toronto or other cities along the Route

Literally multiple food items were sitting on that little rack where the cooking stuff puts them for the front staff to pack because the guy can't pack on that food alone it was an insane amount of food he can't just pack it all literally causing delays causing a massive pile up and making the line not move at all

The worst A&W restaurant I have ever been to. Place is run by a bunch of untrained staff with zero customer service and food preparation skills. Only one self serve kiosk works and people are queued in front of for half hour wait. The cash counter at the restaurant remains closed with a notice asking customer to use the automated kiosk. I refused to use the automated kiosk and asked for a Papa combo with onion rings and diet coke at the cash counter. The first serving of onion rings was loaded with extra salt and was inedible. I had to throw these in the garbage and had to ask for replacement. The replacement serving had less salt but was overcooked to the extent that all the coating from the onion fell off and crumbled. I could only eat the flavourless onions and throw away the coatings. The diet coke was served warm without ice. By the time I realized that it was warm, I already drove away on 401 a few kilometres, so I had no choice but settle with the warm drink. A&W corporate management should audit this restaurant immediately and hire properly trained staff with necessary skills. This restaurant is a...
