Stopped at the Mallorytown North ONroute on August 20, 2021 at ~6pm and the aroma of the bread led me to the Subway. There was a long lineup but I thought it would be worth it. After some time in line, the person infront of me in line left, so I moved up in the line. About a minute or 2 later, the people now infront of me inform me that the reason that the person left is that a staff member came and informed them that they will be the last served in line today. I thought to myself, there's no sign indicating this, there's no communication to myself or the long line of people behind me. I asked the person behind me on line to keep my spot while I go confirm this information. I spoke to Destiny who was frantically trying to ring up customers orders who confirmed the information. I advised that the lack of communication to the clients in line was absolutely unacceptable. I informed as many people as I can do that they do not needlessly wait in line. It was not until I went to be served at a different restaurant in the rest stop where the staff at the other restaurant announced to their patrons the closure time of 7 pm. The other restaurant made this announcement several times during that hour; however, the staff at Subway still continued to quietly ignore the people who continued to arrive after I left. To be clear, I do not have a problem with the fact that the staff wanted to ensure timely closure; however, my issue is lack of adequate communication to their patrons by the staff. This place is horrendous the employees are as slow as sloths, waited 30 minutes for my sub and there was a really long line behind me as well so can’t even imagine how long other people have to wait too. On top of that when I got the sub it was disgusting the onions where bad the bread was falling apart I think most the stuff is expired. A health inspector needs to be called to this place. I was there today and I order a big veggie sandwich for myself as i’m pure vegetarian. But, those guys end up giving me a chicken sandwich. My husband told them that the order is exchanged but the staff was so lazy to check it once, and they said its all good.
