All around 5 stars, always great food and great service. Shout out to the most amazing employee ever, I was having a lot of trouble with my Visa card even though funds were available and she didn’t turn me away(this was a delivery order) and she stayed on the phone with me until it all got sorted out 🥹 I was explaining to her I had a bad day and now my Visa card not working was adding to it. When she delivered the food she threw in a little extra for my bad day!!! It warmed my heart to the max. Highlights has always been my go to Chinese restaurant in Gander but this has just proved to me that it really is the best one in town. Had frightening low expectations coming into this, and indeed, judging from what our fellow patrons had on their plates (think radio-active bright red lumps of battered something next to evenly-toned of brown fried rice kernels), we were superbly surprised and relieved when our meals arrived. The vegetable chop suey was listed under "Chicken Chow Mein" but we were assured the veg c/s option did not involve chx nor noodles?! The "Hunan" chicken consisted of bite-sized chunks tossed in black bean sauce and chili paste, along with broccoli, yay. Both dishes had home-cooked flavor and accompanied by steaming bowls of white rice, they hit the spot perfectly.
