I am currently on a bicycle trip across North America with my 4-year-old cattle dog 'Mavic'. After almost 5,000 km We are only 300km from our destination at Cape Spear. On the morning of our departure Mavic suffered a severe grand mal epileptic seizure followed by multiple clusters. We have been here at the hotel now for four full days while he hopefully recovers. While we've been here the entire staff has been unbelievable. Their heartfelt concern, care, and empathy for our difficult situation is in describable. From the front desk staff to the restaurant staff to the housekeeping and management, everyone has gone out of their way take care of us. The true measure of a company and service is how you Care for People. This organization, hotel, and it's incredible staff exemplify that in the highest degree. I can't say enough about my thankfulness and gratitude.

They dare to give us the room key when the room was in a horrible state and NOT YET CLEANED. Although it was since ratified, it left a bitter taste in our mouth. As the room was complete garbage. They didnt go over the top to compensate and upgrade us and just give us another room. The new room's AC was also working only sporadically and the TV NOT working at all. I do NOT recommend anyone to stay here. *See How HORRIBLE it was from the photos*

I’m not sure why this hotel was so highly rated. Pool was out of service. No coffee available other than in room. I had to move rooms as toilet was broken after several days. In 7 nights I had housekeeping 2 times. Only 2 towels in room. Restaurant only open for a few hours daily . Very expensive considering what is offered The staff are super friendly

As a frequent traveller accustomed to the hospitality industry, I'm disheartened to report numerous shortcomings during my recent stay at your establishment. While I'll do my best to highlight some of the most glaring issues, it's regrettable that there are more flaws than I can readily recall.

Front Desk: The front desk staff appeared overwhelmed, expressing repeated apologies for computer malfunctions during check-out. This lack of confidence in technology was evident and detracted from the overall experience. Hospitality and Cuisine: While the waiting and kitchen staff exhibited exemplary friendliness, the quality of the cuisine left much to be desired. The menu, though adequately varied, suffered from the use of clearly packaged ingredients, resulting in a taste reminiscent of pre-packaged meals. Additionally, an embarrassing incident occurred when a guest's chicken wrap of packaged ingredients, leaked excessive oil, highlighting a lack of quality control. Why was there oil in the wrap anyway? Food Quality: The dining experience further faltered with dishes like the "blackened salmon" being overcooked and lacking the promised bold seasoning and just being over-seasoned. Moreover, the "complimentary breakfast" offered fell short of expectations, resembling more of a budget cafeteria than a quality dining option. I attempted the dish but by stomach quickly turned at the idea or the origins. Room Conditions: The state of the hotel room was equally disappointing, with issues ranging from malfunctioning bedside lamps and bathroom doors to disruptive bathroom fans and outdated television sets. The ambiance was further marred by poor hallway flooring choices and an uninviting smoking area near the entrance. Amenities: Regrettably, essential amenities like an EV charger were conspicuously absent from the parking lot, reflecting a lack of foresight in catering to modern traveler needs.

Despite these shortcomings, it's worth noting the positives: comfortable beds, clean facilities, and the commendable efforts of the maintenance staff. Additionally, the historic decor and convenient location are notable assets.

In conclusion, while I appreciate the efforts of the staff and the space provided during my stay, I'm left perplexed by the significant deficiencies, particularly considering the hotel's reputable ownership. I urge a reevaluation of decision-making processes and a commitment to hiring professionals capable of effecting meaningful improvements. Thank you for your attention to...

The room and the lobby are clean. That’s the good part. It is pretty outdated, and that would be fine if the price was reflective of that. But the amount we paid to stay was too much for what we got. ||Huge confusion over my booking as the website had cancelled one of my nights. The credit card they had on file for me upon checkout wasn’t one I recognized at all (sketchy), and the room was either freezing or humid, no in-between.||The shower is great, lots of nice clean towels, tiny shampoo, and soap. ||The beds were comfortable but super old/noisy to roll over in. The TV kept conking out. The ATM in the lobby was down our entire trip (not good since we didn’t have a car there and the cabs only take cash FYI). ||The waffle maker was fun. The fruit was oranges and apples. Thank goodness breakfast was free since I’m sure the scrambled eggs were powdered, there was no bacon (only bologna), and no butter (only margarine).||Warning if you need ANY level of accessibility: this hotel doesn’t have it! SO many levels, stairs, getting to the pool is a whole system of inaccessible stairs, doors, and slippery tiles. My poor mom (a senior) was struggling with all the stairs and walking so I can’t imagine someone trying to use a wheelchair or a walker at this hotel.||When I asked what I could walk to from there, I was told to CROSS THE TRANS CANADA HIGHWAY to visit a flight museum. Or take a cab to get to it for $8. To go across the road. That was a head shaker. ||I did walk to the orange store next door, and the walkability is about a 4/100 since you’re literally walking a 2 foot wide path on the side of the TCH 😅||Staff were hit or miss, some friendly and sweet, and some scoffing, sighing, or just plain unfriendly and not helpful. ||Our best experience was at supper time, a lovely lady named Josie served us and she is a gem. I hope they treasure her as an employee, she made our evening so pleasant. ||Hungry mosquitos the size of your head are everywhere, outside on the small outdoor patio, inside the foyer, inside the lobby. We were eaten alive. A bug zapper, light, or some kind of system would go a...

The breakfast was not good! No home fries, eggs should have been scrambled not over med hard...one type of meat only, no muffins, bagels. Only one fruit available ?? Whole apples!? There should have been fruit salad! Toast-able waffles with syrup and easy add in? The room price is high and should include a well prepared breakfast buffet.Yeah very sad breakfast deal. I've been in the restaurant business for years and I know how to put together a good simple breakfast buffet. Also the room I was given was right above a ventilation system which was very loud when it came on! So I had to change rooms and I had a lot to take to the other room because I had two pets, one in a large carrier! So no discount on the room even though I had to move and they did admit it was loud! You could hear it all the way down the hallway, a loud ventilation system running! Why would they even give me a room that would be noisy like that?? So yeah no discount on that ordeal, no offer at all!? And I had to change rooms and I was extremely tired from traveling for days, it was 10:00 p.m. when the ventilation system kicked in! No screen on the window in the next room which I thought was odd. So again for the price of the room I think that there should be a better quality in regards to breakfast and discounts for noisy rooms. Plus the small checks in rooms for even minor upgrades like secure windows etc.. Staff seemed nice but front desk person didn't offer any discount on the acknowledged of the loud humming sound from ventilation system below my room! Me having to move up a floor and to the other end of...
