Disclaimer: It was so bad that for the first time in my life I felt the need to write a review!
In the past I've ate at this restaurant and it went well so I figured my experience should be just as good for delivery. WRONG! It was horrible. Let's start with the cost. I spent nearly $50 for 16 chicken wings, a regular size salad and a slice of cheesecake (tax and tip included). Let's talk about the chicken wings (I ordered their Double Order for $18.99+tax). Disappointing. Unfortunately, their site doesn't specify how many wings were included (that's how they get you) so I assumed it would be like most companies that offer 10 wings per order -WRONG. They offer 8 wings per order. Generally, I would of been fine with it because in most cases if a restaurant offers less food at a higher price it's because the the food & its flavor is of higher quality. However, this rule doesn't seem to apply to Boston Pizza. Not only were the wings COLD when they arrived, I was also missing 6 out of the 16 wings that I paid $18.99 + tax. Moreover, the wings were dry and lacked flavor. For the first time I was upset at how much I spent on food. The salad was fine and you can Tell the cheesecake was not refrigerated for long time. I also waited almost 2 hours before I received the remaining 6 pieces of chicken wings that should of been delivered to me in the first place! When I called and asked the employee why I received less wings than expected, she said both her and the cook counted the number of wings before placing it in the bag. So, without placing blame on the driver, you're saying the driver ate 6 of my chicken wings??? Or perhaps the wings came back to life and ran away??? Which one is it? So the moral of the story IS, you cannot trust their driver's with proper food handling (according to the lovely lady I spoke with from the Des Grives/ Du Plateau location)!! Their own drivers might dip their dirty fingers in your food. That's probably why the food was cold and missing in...
Read moreI wanted to watch a football (soccer) match that I thought I would be able to watch at home but no dice. My wife suggested we find a sports bar, show up, ask if they had the match and if they did, sit down, order some food and beverages and enjoy the spectacle on a big screen.
We arrived at Boston Pizza ahead of time, just before noon on a Saturday, to find very few patrons in the place but very welcoming staff, who immediately began looking for the channel, finding it and locking it in for us. A quick chat with the manager revealed that he, too, was a football fan and he was all too happy to screen a live match in his establishment.
Karyne, our waitress, happily brought us whatever we asked for: she had been our waitress during previous visits and remembered us. The coffee was really good and the club sandwiches we both ordered were simply excellent. This was no ordinary club sandwich, though: a healthy well-cooked slab of chicken breast with lettuce and sliced tomatoes doused in a lightly spiced cream sauce and nestled between horizontal slices of an awesome baguette.
By this point, the manager had decided that perhaps we would like to hear the match commentary, so they turned off the music and suddenly, the restaurant filled with the sound of the fans at the FA Cup semi-final in Wembley stadium and the dulcet tones of the BBC pundits. Brilliant!
My team won, my wife had a great time, even though sports on TV isn’t really her first choice for entertainment (she prefers to be in the stadium) and we’ll definitely be returning to...
Read moreNEVER AGAIN!!! Not many things surprise me these days but our visit to Boston Pizza today left me truly speechless. We generally go to BP as a last resort since the food is generally mediocre at best but today was one of those days. Ordered a pepperoni pizza, side of fries for the kids and two beers. I usually order a pint of beer with my meal because it's the cheapest drink on the menu. The beer was flat but Im not in the habit of returning food so I didn't say anything. The bill came in and my jaw dropped...$18 for a pint of beer...or $36 for two beers before tax and tip!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! That's a case of beer at any store that sells beer around here. Even in the most expensive restaurants in Ottawa, a pint of beer is generally no more than about $12-15...what on earth are the managers at BP thinking? Im sorry but this is pure price gouging and should be absolutely illegal. This is one item you cannot blame on inflation. I buy beer at the store and/or restaurant at least once a week and nowhere have the prices increased by 100%. This is absolute insanity. This is a greedy corporation trying to boost up their profits in an already very tight financial situation and for that I will never spend a single dollar at a BP ever again. Taking advantage of consumers in this despicable way after 3 years of COVID and with everything else going on is absolutely unacceptable. If you value your money and have any common sense - take your business elsewhere. Thanks for nothing...
