Café Dough co. — Restaurant in Gatineau

Ok so I'm from a city with to many good donut shops. And every city I go to I find the best donut shop. And these guys are literally my 2nd favorite. And that's probably out of like 30 shops across Canada. But there flavours are unmatched. The hardest thing about a good donut shop, is the DOUGH usually it's normal dough with gimmicky toppings like "oh wow you put an oreo on a donut WOW did someone resurrect Julia Childs (heavy sarcasm)" but I could eat the dough alone here it was sooooo Goooood. The topping were not just icing with a ton of sugar but so flavour full. Yeah I know I can believe someone is writing an essay about donuts either but I'm telling you they were that good. We had the strawberry cheesecake (thank you for not making it cherry) the filling was perfect a perfectly tart (this coming from somone who hates tart) complimented by the not over sweetened cream cheese frosting. Also the maple walnut, the Bueno and sugar twist all 10/10. Skip maverick and Suzy Q which were both lame, I don't even know how there ratings were high YUCK! Don't miss this place it's amazing. This place exceeded my expectations! Staff were helpful in guiding through the menu (although you don't want to take too long to decide... which is what we did!) The selection of donuts is not overwhelming, but there are definitely enough choices. Now about the donuts themselves, they are pretty good! Nice and thick and they seem freshly baked throughout the day. I would only say, the donut itself is normal and the beauty is in the topping. Just clarifying that to those (like myself!) who though the actual donut would be baked in some unique way. The beauty is in the frosting! I had the salted caramel donut and it was delicious! In terms of seating, there is a decent number of seats but few actual tables. Most seats are either along a counter against the window or at the centre where you will find a very large table. It does work, but if you are looking for an actual small table to work on your laptop, there isn't much seating like that. My friend and I got lucky and managed to find a single table. Horrible customer service! We called right before noon to place a order of one dozen. We were extremely excited as we planned to order a week ago. Our usual spot is temporarily closed. We placed our order with someone at the shop, he told us everything is set & when they arrive to etransfer. We called back to get an ETA as we were curious. We were told a driver would pick up at 2pm & deliver from there (Gatineau then ottawa). We assumed they would arrive by 4pm, then 5pm, then we started to worry. We let it be & then contacted to cancel the order at 7pm (time the shop closes). We were told someone showed up at our home half hour after the order was cancelled. I truly believe we were forgotten about. We are beyond disappointed. The shop did very poorly communicating with us. You’ve lost 3 customers that were very eager to try these oh so...
