Le Prince Shawarma — Restaurant in Gatineau

I've been going there for about 2 years now since it's very close to home and my wife and i usually pick up shawarma once a week and the last time we went I believe was about a week ago and as always we order the same thing small shawarma and large shawarma combo with potatoes with Xtra garlic sauce, to my surprise at home after a few bites into my garlic potatoes I felt something really hard in my mouth and to my surprise it was a piece of wire about an inch long, thank god I didn't swallow and immediately stopped eating, I mean for sure it was not put in there intentionately but if equipment needs changing for the fryers then please do it!!! And as I've read a few reviews before mine it did happen to us a couple of times that they had closed a few hours before actual closing time, I will be going a bit further from home to the shawarma place on Vanier...

Let’s say that the food is okay, not great. First thing I didn’t like is that nowhere does it say that it’s HALAL or Kosher, so you only assume that it is. I called them and they said it’s HALAL. I ordered a chicken combo, a mixed plate, a chicken poutine and a beef sandwich via Uber. I never received the poutine or the beef sandwich. I called them and they said I can get them next time I order. I called them today so that they can add this to my Uber order, the person on the phone said he’s busy and can’t accept any further orders. I hate to give such a bad review to this restaurant owned/managed by my Moroccan brothers, but neither the service nor the food is at the level of such a reputable cuisine. I am frustrated and this is indeed frustrating! Maybe when I calm down I can change my mind, but for now this place doesn’t even deserve anything higher...

This place was great when it first opened ...super friendly service, food was delish, generously sized sandwiches, potatoes were hot (hate cold potatoes)....BUT, last few times were terrible which is unfortunate because they are so close to home. Still get friendly service but please don't talk on your cell phones behind the counter and start making sandwiches without washing your hands..wow, huge no no! One guy had a bad cold and was coughing all over the place and into his arm like you would do if you have sleeves!!! Germs are not semi-contained on a bare arm! I decided to give them another try last weekend, never again...the chicken was not fully cooked...you could see the whole skewer jiggling as it was being sliced into and pink chicken emerged in a few places...I had to walk out...get your act together guys and be ready for rush hour!!! I won't...
