UPDATED REVIEW (2025-06-29): I'm visiting Cafe'in for the second time in as many days. This is still a five-star place to visit!
The drinks are made with care—including the iced teas and lemonades, which are prepared in-house with fresh ingredients, and the service is top-notch—though orders are placed at the counter, they are delivered tableside by some of the loveliest, caring folks you could hope to meet.
No snobby or aloof baristas here—Jay is the cheerful, bandana-wearing face of this café, and he makes an effort to engage and connect with every customer. He's knowledgable, too—I have yet to be steered wrong by his excellent recommendations.
Can't wait to visit again... Especially when the patio opens! :)
ORIGINAL REVIEW (2025-03-02): I had a few hours to kill today and chose to spend them at Café'In... and I am SO glad that I did. This is a beautiful local café, and clearly popular—it was already buzzing when I stopped by at 11.
The staff were attentive, friendly, and cheerful (the last two are not requirements, but are always appreciated), table service was a nice plus, and the atmosphere was comfortable.
I had hoped to read and charge my phone and was able to do both things comfortably—many tables had an outlet with USB plug—and the seating and lighting were great.
I had a flat white, and a msemen combo—Moroccan crêpes rolled with honey, and sweetened mint tea served in a cute little pot with a beautiful glass cup. All of it was delicious, and nicely presented.
Though I found the mint tea to be a bit too sweet for my liking, it is a matter of personal taste and not a mark against the café. (I hadn't realized how sweet traditional Moroccan mint tea was, and will request less sugar on my next visit.)
I wish I hadn't forgotten to purchase a few Moroccan cookies / sweets to go—there was a delicious selection available—but I'll simply have to...
Read moreCafé In on St-Joseph is truly one of those local gems that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is cozy, calm, and filled with a welcoming energy that immediately brightens your day. The staff are consistently kind and attentive, and Suzie, in particular, brings such warmth and genuine care to every interaction — she really makes all the difference. You can tell she loves what she does and takes pride in creating a wonderful experience for everyone who walks through the door.
Their food is equally delightful! The smoked salmon croissant is my absolute favourite — especially when lightly heated — the croissant is buttery and flaky, and the salmon perfectly balanced in flavour. Their pasta salads are always fresh, light, and satisfying, and the pastries never disappoint: fluffy, flavourful, and clearly made with love. Whether you’re popping in for a coffee and a treat, grabbing a quick lunch, or settling in with a friend for a chat, Café In offers the perfect combination of good food, great people, and a warm atmosphere. It’s one of those places you can count on to lift your spirits every single...
Read moreWhat an unexpected and pleasant surprise! Leaving out favorite shawarma place, Hubby mentions wanting a coffee. And saw this new place in the same strip mall. Smiling welcome.e from J. And a mouth-watering selection of sandwiches, desserts and, of course, drinks. I opted for the pistachio croissant with a cappuccino, Hubby chose a raspberry and white chocolate muffin with an Americano. As it was our first visit, J threw in a cookie for us to try. OMG! All delish, and the coffee? Properly made and served... with a beautiful leaf design in the froth. The only tiny drawback, nouse coming from the upstairs tenant - a gym. Bot honestly, you get used to it. We plan on trying out their lunch...
