My favorite pho place in Aylmer. Everything from their menu has been great so far and I can vouch that we at least order out from la maison pho once a month. My favorite pho is their P6 which consist of rice noodles with brisket and slightly fat beef. However, I also enjoy their house specialty pho that contains a quail egg and all the types of meat that an authentic Vietnamese restaurant has to offer in a pho. All of their pho comes with Thai basil, Mong bean sprouts and some hoisin and Siracha sauce. Their vermicelli bowls are excellent as well and I wish I had the recipe for the marinades they use on their thinly sliced and grilled chicken, pork and beef. The kids love their spring rolls and my wife enjoyed their pineapple and chicken rice. Ordering is fast and easy and they are turning orders really fast. Even when they are super busy. You should definitely give this place a try if you are looking for...
Read moreHad the fresh rice paper rolls, not on purpose they mistook my order. they were rolled loose and open ended which I've never seen, they fell apart. The pad thai was a decent size portion however I feel I've tasted the same sauce at other restaurants in the region. When I called, the person answering took my entire order before handing the phone to someone else and I had to repeat the process. (Possibly language barrier). Upon arrival the service was very friendly and clearly family ran so I didnt Express my frustration over the mistakes. The pho broth was decent, egg noodles were good, the rice noodles were completely overcooked and could not be used .(One solid chunk) so I recommend egg noodle for takeout. Seafood was a bit overcooked. Given that takeout is the only option I will try again because I feel the food here is overcooked by sitting in takeout containers while hot. Lost points because...
Read moreWe got the shrimp pad thai, shrimp springrolls and bbq pork rice rolls.
I'm not sure if the pad thai was made with a vietnamese twist, they used basil, but I've never seen it in pad thai and it wasn't good; I think it's the only pad thai I've ever tasted that I didn't like. Even the "thai zone" pad thai was better. 3/10
The shrimp springrolls were nice and crispy but the flavour wasn't too great. 3/10
The bbq pork rice rolls were very plain. The pork was good but there was really little of it, most of the roll was just plain vermicelli noodle. I'm not sure if that's the vietnamese style of rice roll but usually there are lots of fresh vegetables in the roll with a nice light sauce. The rolls did come with a sauce on the side but I didn't like it so I ended up eating the pork slices by itself and threw away the rest. 2/10.
Will never...
