On June 30, 2024, I made a purchase in the drive thru and paid at the first window. when I got to the second window I was told the person at the first window accidentally cancelled my transaction and I must pay again. I thought that was weird and questioned it because I saw my transaction was approved, but she said it didn’t go through and I paid again. Before I even left the parking lot I checked my bank account and sure enough I was charged twice for $41.75.
I went into the store and told them what happened and showed them my bank transactions and the employee Rochelle went to investigate. She came back telling me she doesn’t see a transaction matching my total, so it definitely didn’t go through. She then told me it was automatically be refunded by my bank.
Before I left I called my bank and they informed me that no it won’t be refunded and the transaction was completed. I went back in and explained and she still refused to refund and said she will talk to the store manager, but that she is sure it will automatically be refunded. I told her I live an hour away and can’t come back so she said they will e-transfer me.( should have known that was a lie)
After days and the bank never refunding it, I called the store and talked directly with Amanda Walton(who told me in an email it would be refunded if the bank didn’t refund it). I told her it wasn’t refunded and she said she would send a gift card. I explained I paid twice for food that ended up being disgusting and cold since I spent 20 mins in the store trying to figure it all out, and I just wanted a refund for the amount I was double charged. She said she would have to talk to the store owner who she was seeing tomorrow, and that she would call back. Of course she never did call back or email.
It’s been weeks now and I haven’t received a refund, or a gift card which is completely unacceptable, especially in this economy. I technically paid over $80 for a $40 breakfast for my family, and by the time anyone could eat it, it was cold and gross because I spent so long in the store trying to get a refund for the double charge.

Read moreI stopped in here on my way from Bayfield to Kincardine yesterday (July 21st 2024) morning around 10-10:30am to grab a coffee and a quick bite to eat. I walked in and went directly to the ladies washroom which was completely out of toilet paper in all the stalls, thankfully another customer warned me before I used it. I then went to the family stall, same scenario in there as well, and neither washrooms were cleaned and garbage was full. I was going to order food, but as I was standing there waiting to place my order I noticed the 2 ladies in the back (one a younger girl late teens early 20s and a lady of Asian decent wearing a gold wedding band) were literally making food with their bare hands NO GLOVES!. The Asian lady would pull the egg, sausage bacon out of the warmer with tongs but then proceed to assemble the food with her bare hands. At one point the younger girl took over and proceed to do the same thing. At that point I opted for no food for obvious reasons and just ordered coffee. There was an older lady with grey hair working at the front who was rude to 2 senior customers. One lady had left to go use the washroom and the older woman put her food back. When the woman came back and asked where her food was the older employee barked at her and told her she didn't see her so her food was returned to which the customer explained she went to the washroom and was only gone for 90 seconds, why would she pay for food and then leave. Once the customer got her food and left the older employee started making fun of the customer out loud to another employee (younger man) in ear shot of everyone waiting. There was a heavy set man walking through the kitchen in a different uniform that I am going to assume was the manager, I would highly suggest that he and the staff be re trained for food handling safety as I have never been to another establishment where they prepared food with bare hands. Please do not eat here!! Also a refresher for customer service is clearly warranted. I realize this is just a fast food place and most people done care but niceness goes a long way, especially when the bulk of your morning customers...
Read moreStopped in to get ice cream at 10pm, this was marked as unavailable through the appm thought we'd check in at the drive thru only for an automated voice to tell us that they were renovating as of the 10th. We figured maybe thats why the ice was down, but that still should only happen AFTER closing. We sat at the drive thru for 10minutes and noone took our order. We saw people come out to throw out trash from the building, and more than 5 people inside. Clearly workers were in and we were just blatantly ignored. If they closed early for "convenience" then thats just poor service and in direct contradiction of their schedule that listed them as open until midnight. There is no post on their webpage indicating an early close, only that they close as of march 10th. It is still march 9th as of this post. Well Goderich Mcdonalds can just forget us as customers and anyone else i talk to. Thanks for exceptionally...
