Stopped by for a late weekday lunch and found the restaurant mostly empty, with a few patrons enjoying the large outdoor patio by the water and some staff members dining inside. There is the a nice waterfront view.
The menu had some decent choices, but the experience fell a bit short in execution. I ordered the hot hamburger, which came with seasonal vegetables listed as part of the meal. Unfortunately, I was told those wouldn’t be available until dinner service because they hadn’t been prepped yet. That was disappointing. The limited alternative side options didn’t appeal to me, so I opted to upgrade to a Greek salad for an extra $4. The salad was fresh, generously portioned, and served on its own plate.
My partner chose the wild game bangers and mash, only to find out that mashed potatoes were also unavailable until dinner. Again, limited sides were offered, and he settled on the roast potatoes, which turned out to be a single large piece that resembled bread more than traditional roast potatoes, and not quite what he expected.
The food itself was average overall, though I’ll give a shout-out to the gravy on the hamburger, it was rich and flavorful and probably the highlight of the meal. Our server was friendly and attentive, checking in on us during the meal. Also, the bathroom was clean, which is always appreciated.
In summary: the location is great, service was good, and while the food had its moments, the limited lunch prep and unavailable menu items definitely affected the experience. Might be worth trying again during dinner hours when the full menu...
Read moreWe went to Watersedge Pub and Restaurant on our second date. We wanted to get out for our first night without kids in quite a while, so we decided to head back a year and a half after that date.
DISAPPOINTED! We arrived this evening and right away we were greeted by being asked if we had reservations. Apologetically, we responded, "No." The woman snarled at us first and then said she could seat us, asking if we wanted a table inside or outside. We both said we wanted inside and she responded with, "Its nice outside. The nice weather won't last long. There's a table for two outside to the left." We decided to go outside where we were told our server would be with us in a minute. The original person we spoke with must have passed our table, as did the other waitress, no less than 3 times each...no one saying anything to us.
Two other parties were seated outside after we were. The woman we had spoken with told one of the parties they were out of the club house, corned beef, fajitas, pickle spears, ribeye, etc...We just sat there with our menus...waiting for someone to offer us a glass of water.
We left after 10-15 minutes of no acknowledgement.
We ended up having a great meal with excellent service on our way out town. It's too bad the experience at your establishment was so...
Read moreIt just gets to a point where I don’t wanna go to restaurants anymore. The last few Restaurant-visits I’ve come to realize that anyone that’s claiming they’re making a Greek salad is a straight out liar and has no idea what a Greek salad actually is even though it’s the easiest salads in the world to make. I do agree with another Review that was speaking about this authentic in-house made stuff. I would bet my next paycheque that the salad ingredients were Line condiments and they smash it all together and then add that horrific generic industrial salad dressing and call it Greek beyond the fact that I had lettuce in it. I recognize that this can sound petty but for 20 bucks when I’ve got a craft Salad impersonating an actual Greek salad I am insulted. My brother actually works in the industrial food industry GFS, Etc. and I really wish you would’ve have All the stories about food. The rest of the menu that my friends had experience certainly looked really good but for me I was simply turned off as soon as I saw the salad anyways it’s a beautiful view. Service was reasonably good. I just won’t order...
