A very bad first impression.
I am new in town and heard that the Tastie Treat is now under new ownership/management and so therefore feel obliged to provide an honest review that perhaps the new ownership will take to mind:
-the burgers I ordered had soggy lettuce and tomatoes -the young man who pakaged my take out crumpled up the napkins he put in the bag and left grease from his fingers on them -they were out of bacon which is needed for several items on the menu -a stringy, unidentifiable item in one of the burgers -the menu on the website is hard to read, pictures look like they were taken by a six year old with a disposable camera. -website claims over 70 pictures, I counted 21.
It is not my intention to drag the new owners of Tastie Treat through the mud..., on the contrary, I want to help a locally owned business succeed. I only point out that a bad first impression was made and so I call out the owner to ensure resolution of these most blatant issues (and no doubt others I didn't notice) ASAP. In a small town like Grand Forks, getting a bad reputation from the get go will make ones business venture a very short and unsuccessful one.
A sincere reply from the owner/manager to this review may convince me to give them a second shot, otherwise, I will never...
Read moreI ordered the first burger on the menu, a regular burger with cheese , which is NOT a hand crafted burger, it’s one of those no name quarter inch thin burgers with the funny aftertaste. (Why put handcrafted burgers on a menu but then only have one type as hand crafted? Then not mention that) got cold curly fries which I think would have been tasty if they were at least warm if not hot. My friend ordered the the chipotle chicken wrapped in lettuce burger and it was swimming in sauce so much that you could not really eat it without it getting on everything. Yes it was a Lettuce wrap (as they cannot accommodate a gluten free diet) but it was not like it was a little bit it was soaked in it. The chicken was ok though. The guy was all “ Eeyore” attituded if that makes sense. Like it hurt being there. The bun was pretty good on my beef burger, a good portion of lettuce, tomato, onion pickle, and the cheese was real. The place was clean but old and worn out, the bathroom is pretty aged too but at least it’s relatively clean although the dryer that’s there it’s pretty sketchy looking lol but they have a paper towel dispenser so you don’t actually have to use it. So that much was ok. Hence why they get two stars vs one on atmosphere. Not worth the stop in...
Read moreMid week ran out of food after we ordered. We’ve been customers coming here for longer than I’ve been alive. Dad grew up in GF. Extremely disappointed with the food and presentation and quality for the price. Extremely gouging. Don’t ruin your memories of this place. Keep driving. Already told the rest of the family here for a memorial it wasn’t good. Note. When you order food with no onions. It’s because someone’s allergic. Not for you to pick and choose which customers you treat well. If zero stars was an option....
