Beard's Coffee Bar And Bakery — Restaurant in Greater Sudbury

We came today while it was raining outside around 2pm. There was a sign that said 5 people max were allowed in the store. We saw 5 people walk out so we decided to go in. As soon as we went in a lady came and said they can’t have more than 5 people in the store (there was 4 of us). They also didn’t say anything to any of the other people before us to wait outside. One of our friends told us his order and decided to stay outside because there was a dad and a little girl behind us so they could go in faster since it was raining. It was our turn eventually so we went up to the cash. There was zero greeting from any of the workers while we approached the register. I began by saying hello and only then the cashier said hi. We ordered our coffee and got our food. Rice crispy was stale. The cookies were mid. The coffees were pretty okay. Probably should’ve gone to tims and they probably wouldn’t have been racist...

This place is very stylish and hip, loved it from the second we pulled up and saw the sign outside. We had been recommended this place by our host (we were visiting from out of town). I was really looking forward to it after seeing pictures of the place online and the website.The cupcakes, pumpkin spice bites, chocolate loaf and snickerdoodle cookie sandwich were fantastic and my husband and I were very impressed. The customer service however did take me aback. When I was asking about the products the person working cash was being very short and making me feel like a burden for even asking about the products. I was made to feel very rushed and not welcome as I kept being asked if I had made up my mind yet when I was just taking my time to look at the products (there was no one else in store until right when I was leaving). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything is made fresh and is absolutely delicious. Buy 5 of the same type of item and get the 6th free - great for homes and offices. The milk selection is great - i prefer oat milk in the lattes over anyother type. 50%off americanos before 10am Their holiday meals (stuffing and tourtiere) is worth the pre-order online. Now fully wheelchair accessible. Little known second location downtown in the YMCA - has hot food including grilled cheese sammies and chilli with scones. All vegan with a ton of gluten free options. Its quickly become my favourite go to spot.
