Smoke's Poutinerie Sudbury — Restaurant in Greater Sudbury

After a good few years not having smokes, I decided to take my partner to try it out, and give it another try myself(I decided not to). She wanted to try and give it a shot so I got her a snack size traditional poutine. Now, she hates poutine. She's bad experience in the past with it and gags every time she even sees poutine. However THIS WAS DIFFERENT. She ate the entire thing herself with a big smile on her face and a "oh my god this is amazing" look. It honestly made my day, It was amazing.

Making things even better before getting the order to the table from the counter, the employee working (who I assume is the owner actually) told me once the order was ready this; "I put some extra Fry's and another fork incase you guys wanted to share it. Enjoy"

This made me so thankful and grateful to be part of the Sudbury community. This showed me that not all business owners or business employees are enough is enough or less is enough. Giving that little bit extra to customers ensures A. A happy, good visit and experience, and B. A returning and recurring customer. Thank you generous employee for the extra Fry's and fork.

8/10 taste - Gravy is perfect and salt to taste if youre like me. Ingredients - fresh and squeaky curds and real fries while not always my preference as they dont melt, come together good for original classic poutine. Fries might get soggy if you order delivery but what do you expect from non preservatives. 9/10 service - upbeat personality in store and order is always right and packed well for delivery or in store quickly. 5/10 menu - while you can get tons of different toppings, they can taste very, very cheap and much out of place for how fresh the poutine is. 6/10 price - you could get way more, tasting as good or better from alternatives for cheaper. Real ingredients but processed toppings? Price needs to adjust to fit. 7.5/10 overall, would be better either cheaper to match the toppings, or fresh toppings and better sizing to match the price. Way better than anything you'd get at chain restaurants but less than local alternatives; can be a nice change of taste if you are bored of Miss Maples and...

The gentleman in the store was in the back on his phone. He was a nice enough guy. He did not wash his hands before making my order but he used utensils to make my food, so he never touched anything I was going to eat. I had eaten here once before and had the jalapeño poutine and I didn't think it was all that great but that was like 5 years ago so I decided to have my 2nd visit to this brand and get the traditional poutine. The fries are great. The cheese curds squeak but they have no flavour and they don't melt and that sucks. Melted cheese curds in a thick dark homemade gravy is fantastic. Smokes poutine gravy has a flavour that is very salty. I keep thinking that the meal would be so much better without the curd and gravy but I wanted poutine and now I realize I didn't get it here again. There will be no 3rd visit. Over packaged.
