Staff was friendly, the coffee was good and the bakery items looked delicious. However, I was visiting from the U.S. and they said I couldn’t use my credit card which was a first. They said debit or cash then would only take Canadien debit. Then a woman who I presume was the owner although she didn’t identify herself was very rude about my service dog who though he was wearing his credentials, I was asked to put a full vest on him. So I went to my car and put on his full vest which I do not believe is required even in BC. She accepted it but clearly was still not happy and tried to intimidate me with warnings of potential fines. Not a good beginning to my visit to Canada….

Update: from the BC gov website 8/2024, I think you need to get updated on your laws…and you were very rude

Certification under the GDSDA is voluntary. Valid guide and service dog teams exist outside of the GDSDA certification process. Persons with disabilities who rely on a guide or service dog that is certified with other authorities, or is not certified, have an equal right to access and use of public services and places and rental or strata housing, and are protected under the BC Human Rights Code.

Under the Guide Dog and Service Dog Act, certified dog and handler teams have the same rights as people not accompanied by dogs.

Provided the dog is well-behaved, a team cannot be denied access to:

Restaurants and cafes Buses and taxis Hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts All other businesses Any public place Strata bylaws and rental terms prohibiting or restricting pets do not apply to certified guide and...

Food & coffee are decent! However, .... staff adamantly demanded that we sanitize our hands with their “food grade” sanitizer before we were allowed to order anything. Then, in the half hour + that we were there, I observed that the staff prepared food & drinks, handled multiple cash transactions (taking cash/giving change) handed & touched food items back and forth without “sneeze guards” or wearing masks, between a steady stream of dozens of unrelated patrons that are standing side by side with absolutely no enforced “social distancing” and not once did any one of the workers ever wash or sanitize their own hands much less sanitize the tables or any other surface. I am aware that staff must follow govt imposed Covid “rules” in order to be open for business, and I am always pro-small business... I am aware also that there is not one thing about this encounter that followed any logic. .... then ... discarded masks laying on the back deck at the exit...

I don’t like to give negative reviews but I found the lady serving me to be inhospitable and unreasonable. I stopped in to pick up some baked goods as I was heading out on a 7 hour road trip. I spent $9 for my take out items and I politely asked for a cup of water for my dog in the car. The lady informed me they had a dog dish outside. I said I was willing to buy a cup as I wanted to have a cup of water in the car for my dog for the drive. She said it was going to cost me one dollar. I asked why the cup was so expensive (I don’t mind paying but I know a takeout cup doesn’t cost even close to a dolllar). She said it was because they had to pay for the cups and they try not to give them out. Again, I was willing to pay but not a dollar. That is absurd. In the end, I didn’t get the cup of water for my dog. Fyi- the baked goods were good, but I will...

Having driven by numerous times I finally Stopped here out of curiosity, the place was slammed and super busy I wasn’t certain why, until I had the best mocha known to mankind and some of the best buttertarts I’ve ever tasted (sorry mom!) omg the baking here is epic, I bought a vegetarian bagel pizza expecting the typical generic edible but nothing to write home about pastry instead I received and incredibly tasty and flavourful masterpiece of culinary delight!!! Everything I have tried here is off the scale excellence, top quality and lovingly created, trust me do not buy only one of each pastry because as soon as you taste them you will realize the error you have made and will immediately require more. Don’t drive by, if it a nice day the outside patio and terrace is a great place to sit and enjoy your coffee and lunch or snack, wonderful really…

My husband went here for breakfast and this is what he got for $17…sad and the eggs were bland and not even getting any hash browns…the kicker is you have to butter your own toast….u brag about ethan hawke and uma thurman eating there…learn better to serve your customers when you expect that kind of money from people…smh…EDIT!!!!: “in your response”, firstly let me rephrase it to “cheap” eggs not bland..fine you’re a bakery but at least butter peoples toast so people don’t chip their teeth on it..from the complete negativity of the response says enough… as a business owner you should know better, have a good day ✌🏼(btw the pepper was to flavour it up a bit) the pic says it all ;) 🗑️ food

This bakery/cafe caught our attention after driving from Osoyoos towards Castlegar out of nowhere. Situated on the mainstreet of a historic town of greenwood, We were glad we paid a visit to this one. The have one of the most amazing cappuccinos I’ve had in the area. Their breakfastmenu is amazing too. We tried cheese omelettes and French toasts , both amazing and made with fresh bread in-house. Once a city of 5000 people and now reduced to 700, we were glad that these awesome people had kept the place alive for so long ! A must stop for a quick bite or a coffee.
