We love to stop off here when we are traveling. I love to look at all the things they have for sale. A lot of things are from the people in the town that sell there. I have got a beautiful handcrafted glass bowl that I love. They have a lot of snacks type foods to eat and they used to have a BBQ grill outside, which is now a Mexican eatery. I was very disappointed when we got there and saw it was changed. It also wasn't open so we were unable to try it and see if we even liked it. I would have preferred BBQ as I was looking forward to it. They have different types of coffee, but as with all small towns it seems their coffee is very weak. My mom even got extra shots put in and it just brought it up to maybe a Tim Hortons coffee. Which was better than last time without a shot, she couldn't even drink it. None of it works for me as I am a Starbucks drinker, so it didn't come close to being drinkable for me. But for those who do not love strong coffee it would be a good cup. They have added bubble tea, we did not try it this time, but my bubble tea loving daughter probably will next time. They have ice cream and other homemade snacks you can also order. It is a fun place to visit and I highly recommend stopping here. They are not open late, so keep that in mind. I think one of our toughest things when traveling, is towns that have nothing open past 7 or 8pm. Small towns start shutting down at 6pm. It is disappointing. But if you are in town before it closes, it is well worth...
Read moreTwo summers ago I decided to stop in at this place on my way from Creston to Oliver. I couldn't have made a better choice! I ate at the outdoor Mexican restaurant and had the best shrimp tacos ever... then I browsed around in the store for a while, which was very interesting... there's something for everyone in there. I purchased a few things including a delicious oatmeal date bar and some ice cream. But.... the Nanaimo Bars had caught my attention right from the minute my 👀 spied them. You have never seen Nanaimo bars until you see these ones. And the taste... I had to go back in and get 2 more in the bigger size. I had eaten one and I wanted more! For myself and also to share with my brother and his family. They have added coarsely ground coffee beans to the base and there's also a few in the chocolate on top. Absolute 10/10 for these amazing Nanaimo bars. The rest of their baked goods looked very yummy as well. On the way back thru a few weeks later, I stopped for a few more Nanaimo bars to take home! I also grabbed a specialty coffee drink for the road, which I very much enjoyed. You have missed out if you haven't taken the time to stop and check out this cute place with its hometown touristy vibes, delicious baked goods and a nice variety of hot and cold drinks. Do yourself a favor...
Read moreI have no clue how I haven't reviewed this location yet! I visit here everytime I pass through greenwood. The establishment has been around as long as I can remember. Our family visited their every trip since 2007, with a community first attitude. If I were to give a critic is that they care to much, and that's okay! We need more business like theirs in the world. Fresh coffee, or matcha if that's your fancy, beautiful tasty selection of goodies... Including hard serve icecream!! Amazing gem what used to be a bustling logging/mining town. Take a stop here, grab a drink and a snack, slow down and admire small town BC. In my opinion life is wayyyyy too short not to visit here, may as well enjoy it! :)
July edit, we drove through again. I got my usual chocolate chip cookie dough brownie, and matcha lemonade. This time was different though, due to the workload the barista made an error. They carbonated my matcha lemonade on accident, usually I'm not a TV static water fan. With this drink though it really pulls everything together, allowing the matcha to fully dissolve in the water and it brought out some of the lemon. I highly...
