When I came here it was quite busy. It took a lot of time to get seated (despite there being seats open) or receive my food on their outdoor patio… which is objectively beautiful. I ordered their shaking beef (forget the Vietnamese name for it) which might be their most expensive dish. I’ve made it at home and it is a beautifully seasoned dish of high quality beef seasoned with garlic, served with watercress, rice and a dipping sauce. You don’t normally see it on menus so I was excited to see their take. What I got was a dish which was very saucy and sweet, and the beef chewy. It tasted a lot like standard American style Chinese food. Still tasty but different. It had no watercress and was instead served instead with peppers and onions. I would be fine with that - dishes can vary based on the chef - but someone behind me was complaining that their dish “beef and Chinese broccoli” was served with regular broccoli. I checked the menu and verified my dish was advertised as having watercress - this is a more speciality ingredient with a distinctive peppery taste, hard to get out of season. By that time I had eaten my meal. Service was so slow I just wanted to get out of there so did not complain. I left with the impression that this restaurant thinks it’s okay to make substitutions in speciality ingredients without advising customers, replacing with things that drastically change the dish and are cheaper. This would be a dishonest and an unacceptable practice. I might come back for the patio, but would expect slow service and only order French fries.

I visited here a few days ago to enjoy a vacation with my family. When we visited, they didn't guide us to the seats, but said we could sit anywhere we wanted. So we sat down to eat inside and not patio, and from then on, they started to lose interest in all the servers. Even after 10 minutes, they didn't even look at us, and all the servers ignored us. An Asian server found us from the patio, came in and took the order. That's how I ordered 3 pho and spring roll, but fruit flies came out of my husband's pho. (Twice! Once with flies abd once with tiny caterpillar) And when I got the new pho and ate it, I found a caterpillar. When I showed my husband another caterpillar, a server came and said it looks like a bean sprouts. Shouldn't you guys tell me sorry first? No server never said sorry to us when the bug came out of the first pho, or when the caterpillar came out of the new pho. The service was the worst ever since we first entered the restaurant, and I can't forget the disrespect of the servers until we ordered food and ate and got into trouble. And the server talked to someone on the phone and said we don't have to pay for the rice noodles my husband ate. We could hear sorry when we paid. I remember my parents saying that disrespect is like ignorance I heard that kindness comes from leisure, but it's a pity for the servers. I hope the people who work there will have a relaxed mind. Also! The Asian server was coming towards us when one of the white server said NO! Very aggressively. What is wrong???

I was a loyal customer for years but I haven’t returned since realizing that they’re taking advantage of the people around the area. Grimsby on the lake is a beautiful scene, as well as an area that is in demand. Considering it’s one of the fewest Asian/ Vietnamese spots around here, I always came back because of the quality and location. I’ve been coming to this place since they’ve open prior to COVID. However through the years, I’ve noticed that their service and quality has diminished. I understood raising their prices because of inflation and demand, but their portions are smaller as well as their food isn’t the same quality anymore I don’t get the food anymore, but I only went mainly for the Vietnamese iced coffee. As an Asian person myself, I can make my own at home, but some thing about someone else making it for me just seems to taste better. When they first opened up, I swear it was around $6 for some ice coffee. Then $7. Then $8. And then recently they told me the total was around $10. and it’s not about being cheap, but it’s the matter of the quality. When I go to Starbucks, or go get Bubble Tea, I’m gonna be spending almost $10. But tell me why I received this, and it was mainly ice, and it wasn’t even filled. You tell me, is this worth $10 to you? Their food is over priced and mediocre, you can get actual good Vietnamese food elsewhere, but how do you screw up iced coffee .. this just closed the book for me here.

We really wanted to like this place and it's fairly new so I'm hoping they were just having a bad night but this was not good.

Let's start with the positive:

Spectacular waterfront location and a brand new beautiful restaurant. The presentation on the dishes was very nice. The prices were very fair.

Unfortunately, that's it. It is a fairly new restaurant and they are just starting to iron out the details, but wow. The service was amongst the worst I've experienced in a long time. Don't get me wrong. Not rude. In fact quite kind. Just nonexistent. It took 20 minutes just to get someone to come over to take our order. We were given warm water with no ice sitting out on the patio on a 28 degree evening. Nobody ever offered a refill and they never brought more even when asked repeatedly. No cutlery. I worked in the service industry for decades and when it's busy you need to hustle. The front house didn't get that memo here.

The menu advertised rotating beer on tap. They had no kegs and the bottled beer selection was out of grandpa's garage fridge. Not a single beer that wasn't made on the 401.

So without beer we decided to order the pinot grigio. All out. So third choice it is I guess.

From the app menu we ordered the fresh roll with pork and shrimp. They are wrapped in rice paper though so they were fused together in a manner that no chopstick could ever separate them and of course nobody ever came by to offer cutlery. Tasty but not $8 tasty.

From the main menu we ordered the vermicelli with beef. Beef was good and well seasoned but the rest was bland and unspectacular.

We also had the noodle nest with vegetables and assorted seafood (which in this case meant two small shrimp and a bit of artificial crab). The flavour was good but not great. Drowned in sauce in the middle.

Vietnamese cuisine is new to the area and besides pho I had never had it before. The staff never offered a suggestion and barely made eye contact with us.

I'm giving them 3 stars because everyone else has given positive reviews and I figure we must have been unlucky. I don't like giving...

Horrible wait staff and management. First time and last time!!! Booked a birthday reservation for my friend and I on their patio Saturday night. I have to mention that their patio chairs are cheap, uncomfortable, falling apart and low sitting. I had to ask for a wooden chair from inside. We waited 15 minutes even before someone acknowledged we were there. We were brought water and then waited another 10 minutes before I flagged a waitress down. Our waitress had ZERO personality and acted very zombie like. We ordered a bottle of wine and had to open it ourselves because she was about to break the cork in two. When our food came it wasn’t delivered by our waitress and during our entire time of eating she didn’t come over once to ask how everything was and how we were doing! When we were finished she came and gathered our plates and still never bothered to ask of our well being. We eventually had to move inside because there were some black oily liquid dripping from the glass ledge above us. Stained my friends jeans and not one person offered any help or acknowledged how awful this was. We moved inside and finished our wine. Again, our waitress was not to be found and we sat there unattended to. I finally had to get up and flag her down for our bill. Before leaving we spoke to a female “manager” for at least 5 minutes expressing our frustration and disappointment with our first time visit and their wait staff. The manager wasn’t attentively listening to my concerns and her first comment was that they were busy. That night was NOT busy. I explained again in greater detail because obviously she didn’t care or wasn’t listening. She still dismissed all of our conversation! Not ONCE did she apologize or have any empathy towards our feelings. This is unprofessional managerial conduct! She made us even more frustrated to begin with and we just walked away appalled by her lack of communication or resolve. I spent $170.00 and left that waitress $0! I will never again visit this horrendous establishment or recommend to anyone. Shame on Lang...

Visit Date: Father's Day Weekend

I had family visiting from Brussels, Vancouver, and Calgary, and we drove from Mississauga to Grimsby to support a local Vietnamese restaurant. There were 14 of us, and after a 1.5-hour drive, we were looking forward to a pleasant meal. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired and gave my family a bad impression of Grimsby.

When we arrived, we waited outside for a hostess to greet us. The hostess opened the door partially and asked how many people were in our group. When we said 14, she appeared annoyed and told us that they were very busy, and there were no tables available. She mentioned it would be a 40-minute wait, which we were willing to accept despite her negative attitude.

Eventually, she suggested we sit on the patio. We arranged our own tables next to each other without obstructing any walkways. To our complete shock, two waitresses approached us aggressively. One of them, who was blonde, yelled at us to separate the tables immediately, claiming we were blocking an emergency exit. Her tone was hostile, and she completely ignored our attempts to explain. The great part is there were no customers or tables across from us so there was NOTHING to block.

Feeling disrespected and unwelcome, we decided to leave. As we walked away, the waitress sarcastically raised her hands and exclaimed, "Just great." This rude and unprofessional behavior completely ruined our outing.

I hope the management reads this review and takes action to improve their hiring practices and customer service. Such treatment of customers is unacceptable and damaging to the business....
