Ambience and service was top notch. The food place leans a little more to the high end instead of a quick serve everyday dine-in Indian restaurant. This fact reflects into the interior dining decor and table setup complete with wine glasses. The service was also up there to match. We were directed to our table and duly provided drinking water. We were asked if we want wine to which we refused. The food and food presentation was excellent. I have no complaints with my order of Murg Methi Dhabewala (chicken in traditional curry with fenugreek) $17.99. I paired it with garlic naan which was $3.50 extra. The curry is spicy, but not hot which is just the way I like it. Serving size is a little more than enough for 1 person, and it should be good for sharing. My South Indian friend ordered the chicken biryani. Other than the minor comment he had that the biryani was a little salty, it was otherwise good. Talking more about the interior setting of the restaurant is to mention the TV displays present. There were 3 TVs playing some continuous videos. The rightmost has some Indian or desi music videos on shuffle. The middle TV has some Gordon Ramsay or some cooking show playing. The leftmost is showing some Burna Boy music. Only the leftmost TV has the volume turned on. The setup kind of breaks from the whole classy ambience the restaurant is trying to go for. I find that playing Afrobeats kills the theme you would expect from a South Indian restaurant.

Please don't eat from here and spoil your health, worst food i have tried ever, never follow instructions and never be kind to others, when I ordered two Szechuan fried rice from uber eats, I asked for less spicy they made it extra spicy and when I called restaurant, the staff told me to add some sugar or vinegar or plain rice or have the fried rice with lassi. Worst staff and worst service. Never choose this place. SORRY to say this, its first time in Canada, I am experiencing this kind of service from any restaurant. Instead of giving proper response, the girl who took the call was teaching me how to make food less spicy. Forgot to add, When I asked the girl, what kind of spice you use in food, so I can check with my doctor to take medicine she thought i am asking their secret recipe LOL, she said its secret then said its House sauce. After taking a small spoon of Szechuan fried rice my face started to burn and became red. Being an Indian we eat spicy but this was out of the world. 8/10 doesn't mean full spicy, it means out if the food is spicy then, I need only 80% of that spic level. If u had any questions regarding that, you should have called to my number. And moreover I ordered 2 fried rices and for other I mentioned only 1/10 for spice level. But you gave same level of spice for that to. That means your chef or who ever is taking for this is not paying attention.

I recently visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner with a group of 9, and while the hospitality was absolutely A1, the food experience left room for improvement. Our host, Pratisksha, was incredibly attentive and did her best to manage our large group efficiently, which we truly appreciated. The chef’s special salad was a nice gesture, but the rest of the food was underwhelming. The Veg Hara Bhara Kabab was a bit too salty, and the Veg Momos were quite dry and hard. On the other hand, the Lehsuni Gobi was flavorful and enjoyable. We also ordered Methi Malai Matar, but what was served felt more like Matar Paneer. When we checked with the staff, they assured us it was their version of the dish, which was disappointing as it didn’t match our expectations. Despite these food-related issues, the staff’s efforts to make the evening special were commendable. They played a birthday song to celebrate with us, and their thoughtful gesture of playing lullabies for the two infants in our group was truly heartwarming. Overall, the hospitality and attention to detail were exceptional, but the food quality needs improvement to match the service.

We’ve been regular customers of this restaurant for quite a while now and have never had issues in the past — until today. We ordered Chicken 65 Biryani and Chowmein noodles, and both dishes were extremely disappointing. The biryani rice was undercooked, and the noodles, which were specifically requested as medium spicy, turned out to be unbearably spicy — so much so that even we adults couldn’t eat them, let alone our kids.

When we called the restaurant to share our feedback, instead of a sincere apology or a solution, we were told to microwave the biryani because apparently, that would finish cooking the rice — which is simply unacceptable. As for the noodles, the staff insisted that their version of medium spice is what we received, though it clearly wasn’t. Eventually, after a brief and unhelpful call, we were offered a 10% discount — not for the current order, but for a future one.

To make matters worse, the restaurant called back 10 minutes later and changed their explanation, claiming a chef had added green chili sauce, which made the noodles extra spicy. The offer was then raised to a 20% discount for next time, still without a real apology or taking responsibility for the poor quality.

A 20% discount on a $50 bill is hardly a resolution, especially for loyal customers who expect better. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of accountability and care. If this is how returning customers are treated, I can only imagine the experience of someone ordering for the first time.

We won’t be ordering from here again, and I would not recommend this restaurant to others. Consistency in food and respect for customer feedback should be the bare minimum — unfortunately, this place failed on...

This place is a rip-off and has poor customer service. I'd advise others to go to Diwa's or Spice Roots instead.

Food was good, I'll give them that, but portions for the price and poor waitressing will make us never come back.

We were sat down, and the waittress immediately pours water into our glasses and spills it, and then doesn't even bother drying off our tables. We used our own napkins to do that, and then she never offered us more water or left the pitcher at our tables. We realized at the end she went on her own break and was sitting and eating, so we never got any more service after she gave us our meals.

Onto the meals: Nimbu Tawa fish as an app was like 18 dollars for 4 pieces of fish. It was pricey for how much was given. Now, the main course butter chicken (also 18, maybe more): WE SPECIFICALLY ASKED if it was enough for two people and were told it would be. We ordered two naan and rice too. When we got the bowl I was so mad I asked if there was another bowl coming. I would say it's like half a chicken breast's worth of meat for the price, and definitely not enough for two.

We filled up on carbs and had to ration our butter chicken. We were offered more and I said 'no if we had to pay for it'.

To top it off she completely forgot about my drink I ordered. We weren't charged for it, but still. Eating naan, rice, butter chicken without any other liquids outside of the first water cup was not a good time. We paid, didn't tip and left. Awful...

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. THEY DO NOT KNOW CUSTOMER CARE, THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO COOK AND SERVE. WITH LOUD MUSIC YOU FEEL THAT YOU ARE IN A DHABA AND NOT IN A FINE-DINE CUISINE.

Oct 31, 2024, Dine-In We are very Disappointed. They were disrespectful. We asked for menu, after a bit of struggle we got, we got response that scan QR code for menu! ouch! Is this a fine dine-in restaurant or fast food place? Nevertheless, the music they were playing was too loud as if someone is hammering your head. We said multiple times to change or reduce volume - they did not listen. Every time we said something other person is arguing. You do not argue with customers!

Food: NOT GOOD. We ordered few items: Jira Rice: there was no jira (cumin seeds), other than zira all other items which we do not recognize were there, we asked for plain rice, they said they have zira rice, ouch! such a simple thing rice how can anyone make any mistake. Methi Malai Matar: There was no methi, malai, but paneer (cheese), we did not order for paneer item and to our surprise they gave us paneer item when we asked something else. NOT GOOD. It was too salty as well. Dal makahani: They really do not know how to cook Dal. It was too salty and there was no makhhan (butter), we in fact requested butter but they did not cook very good. Roti: Roti was stretching like rubber! ouch! VERY SAD.

Overall, Kolkata Club turned out to be BAD CLUB. STAY AWAY IF YOU DO NO WANT TO GO THROUGH EMBARRASSMENT WITH...
