If I could give this establishment less than one star I would. I decided to order from the establishment because I had ordered from there before and had a good experience. I pre-ordered and pre-paid for Christmas dinners for pick up on Christmas Eve. When I arrived at my scheduled time to pick up the meals I was greeted by a woman that was not a regular employee or server of the establishment as she wasnât wearing the usual staff dress, was nicely dressed with hair and make up done. From what I can tell she was either management of the establishment or perhaps volunteering her assistance and giving out the pre-ordered Christmas dinners. When I gave them my information the lady told me that she did not have my order. She was very matter-of-fact about the fact that she had not had any indication of my order. She did not seem concerned in anyway. This was an incredibly upsetting situation for me as I had pre-ordered the meals for people who were unable to make their own dinners due to isolation because of illness and this mixup meant that they would have no Christmas dinner. What was running through my head was how am I going to ensure that these people have Christmas dinner at this point when everything was shutting down in a matter of a couple of hours not to mention that I had paid a hefty price for the meals. I turned away and cursed to myself that this was happening and right away the woman that was working instantly lit into me for being upset about the situation. The woman yelled at me and said it wasnât her problem that she didnât have the order. I told her that this is not just any old meal itâs Christmas dinner so I had every right to be upset about the situation and she did not care about that. She said she would go talk to the chef but her only option at that point was to simply refund me the money. There was no apology for the lost order or anything resembling good customer service. The chef managed to throw some food together right there for me but even that missed the mark as it didnât have everything we had ordered. The horrible experience for the entitled front of the house ladyl left me and the people I was ordering the food for very upset. The fact that she yelled at me for being upset about the situation and chastised me as if to say how dare I be upset at her, brought me to the point of tears on Christmas Eve. She did not apologize and did not say anything that a proper person who works in the food service industry or customer service industry for that matter would say to someone if they ( their establishment)are the ones that made a mistake. I will never frequent this establishment again and I have already made sure that everyone I know is aware of how I was treated at that time. A high stress time of year requires a little bit of kindness and understanding especially during these times. And there was absolutely none of that from this very entitled lady. If this is who works for or who is associated with this establishment then I want no part in further lining their pocket books when they treat their customers like we are doing them a favour and not appreciative of...

We are visiting Halifax and have experienced nothing but the best of East Coast Nova Scotian hospitality up until now. We walked onto the 100% empty outdoor patio with our leashed Golden Retriever, and were immediately scolded and turned away. To be clear, I completely respect a business ownerâs choice to decline dogs however, chastising complete strangers in a condescending and abrasive way simply isnât necessary, being kind and polite is always an option. We were made keenly aware that this is a âprivateâ club and our presence there was not acceptable to either âthe membersâ or to her. We would have happily ordered take-out and gone somewhere quiet to sit and eat outside, but that option was not offered to us, we only read that they offer take-out afterwards. We might have come back at a different time without the dog because it looked like such a sweet spot to eat. We might have recommended it to a friend in the future because the reviews of the food sound so positive. But all of that potential was lost by simple, unnecessary rudeness. Online it says that non-members are welcome, but that unfortunately was not the vibe we got whatsoever. Apparently there is an awesome Spinnakers in Victoria, British Columbia - with a dog-friendly patio!! I think weâll head West next time and give...
Read moreWhile Spinnaker is a private club, they also welcome guests, so don't hesitate to make a reservation.
There is inside and outside dining, both with unobstructed views of the water.
After making a reservation (with only a 30 minute notice) we were greeted by a lovely hostess that arranged our table near the window for a great view.
Water was waiting for us at our table and menus were quickly delivered.
We ordered the Seafood Linguine ($21) and Pan Fried Haddock ($21), no appetizers or drinks.
The food came quickly, and was delicious! Fish cooked to perfection and the accompanying vegetables were awesome! The Pasta was also cooked to perfection and tasty! Good portion of mussels, clams, shrimp and scallops. The garlic bread added a nice touch.
This restaurant is right on the water with amazing...
