First time eating at this location.
Arrived and was seated at about 4:20, we saw there was a rib special half price so figured hey why not.
It took a few mins to take our drink order which was ok but about 20 mins before actually receiving them and then taking our order. We ordered some appetizers and said we wanted the rib special, only to be told they would have to charge full price as it is not yet 5PM (at this point it is 4:45) so ok… order the appetizer for not and at 5 place the order for the ribs. Come 5PM still no appetizers, waitress comes by and asks if we are ordering ribs, at this point a bit confused as appetizers haven’t even arrived, we ask about them and order our ribs.
5:20PM appetizers finally arrived. About 15 mins later ribs arrive. I swear they overcooked and rushed these ribs, they where dry and no where near fall off the bone, had to muster my inner hulk in order to tear them off the bones. We let the waitress know almost immediately, she takes them back and brings out some more about 10 mins later. My GF ate hers but still the same dry and stiff ribs as before and the rack seemed to be half the size as before. Let the waitress know about the issue and she says usually they are fall off the bone and even demonstrate trying to tear the thing apart.
At this point I had given up as the waitress didn’t seem to understand that the ribs where not enjoyable at all, so we ask to take the rest to go and was then refused as seeing as it’s on “special” they can’t allow customers to bring home their leftovers (icing on the cake). I understand the policy as to not have customers ordering a second plate in order to abuse the special but when it is your half eaten main meal this seems a bit ridiculous to me.
Called for the bill, no compensation for the ribs paid and left.
Very poor experience, which is a shame and was looking forward to dining here, not sure I would go back again. As a side note restaurant was not...
Read moreI ordered from Deja Vu last time it was in 2004. I have went to eat inside the restaurant last time in 2023 I paid for my two friends including alcohol we took some nachos cheese stick and they took their meal.. Nachos didnt impress me at all.. cost me around 280$ i gave the waitress 30$ of tip even if the service was mediocre.. I decided to order tonight and it was honnestly a big mistake. I was disapointed.. I ordered small pizza all dressed regular crust looks more like thin crust 4 pepperoni on the entire pizza, a few piece of peppers and mushroom.. Very thin pizza... Poutine Large and top new french fries the bottom was old french fries... Home fries is nothing like what is once was at the Chateau way back in the 90's. Snax combo the wings were dried disgusting.
I ordered a pita for my bf the beef inside the pita was pink!! My bf could taste the blood from just the very first bite.. It was honnestly the worse meal he has ever had!! Beef inside the pita should of been fully cooked, this is not negociable.
I am very disapointed. I usually go to North End in Cornwall for my pizza, I do the mileage but the topping the dough, the toppings veggies, pep and the cheese top notch. I won't be recommending Deja Vu to any of my customers. Very disapointing! The little busboy is the one I have spoken with when I call to let them know, He couldnt care less.. The credit they gave me tonight will stay in my account for eternity I will not go back to this restaurant. I will go where customers are being treated with respect not in a place where they made their money and they dont put the time and effort to keep...
Read moreWhere do I begin? We waited 20+ minutes to be seated, no hostess. And servers walk by and don't acknowledge the crowd of 10-12 people waiting to be seated. It's called the hospitality industry. Lol
When we were seated our server asked where we would like to sit; then she tells us that we can't sit on the patio because she doesn't have any tables available in the patio. However we took a seat next to the patio, while waiting for our drinks the table next to us became free,,,(I have a chronic pain disorder). So we moved so I could have a more comfortable chair. As soon as we saw our server we Sorry I hope it's ok, she only muttered " Not really". She did not wipe the table, she gave us our drinks and we didn't see her again until halfway through our meal.
We waited FOREVER for our meal. After 20 minutes or more, I started to pay attention... I watched 3 new tables be seated and be served their meals before ours arrived.... eventually a busboy brought our plates. We ordered more drinks and she brought them promptly..
The beer was about room temp and the long island ice tea was very good. Our second beer was a different brand, that one was room temp also (all the kegs are warm huh?) but my second cocktail was great!
The food was ok, nothing exceptional. I found it odd that the baked potato was served with butter only no sour cream, chives, nothing.....but my plate had a weird sauce, like a weak poutine sauce, I asked what it was, server didn't know. Lol.
Server didn't charge correctly for the happy hour cocktails.
We won't...
