This park is on the Ontario side of the Ottawa river, across from Grenville, Quebec where I used to live. Since April until last week; I was crossing 1 or 2 times a week to move stuff from my apartment in Grenville to a house in l'Orignal, ON. And since this is one of the border crossings that the OPP has had blocked since April; everyone from Quebec driving over the Long Sault Bridge has been pulled over at the roadblock - right on the island where the park is located. However; I HAVE visited this park in the past - a lovely place to go - once Covid restrictions are lifted. One side has a boat launch, some really interesting outdoor art exhibits; picnic tables; a building that houses a Cultural Arts Centre, Tourist Info centre (with washrooms); and if you drive UNDER the bridge to the south side; there is a very large park with way more green space and picnic tables and a gazebo. In the summer, someone sets up a small trailer on that side by the water to rent out water craft (I think kayaks, pedal boats, etc.). The only thing missing here is a swimming area. Before Covid, this entire park was constantly busy on both weekends and weekdays. Definitely worth a visit - if you don't mind crowds !
