McDonald's — Restaurant in Hearst

TIP JAR ???? seriously, a tip jar on the counter... isn't "no tipping permitted" a McDonald's policy... granted, last i heard that was their policy was in the same commercial that advertised "change back from $5 to feed a family of four"... also must note, staff seemed disconnected, i.e. INSANELY SLOW; an almost jovial atmosphere: friendly, joking among themselves, socially they seemed to get along well. BUT let's remember, they are supposed to be there to serve food to customers. They were NOT very busy, yet my burger sat in the "chute" for over 2 minutes while staff joked around with each other and those they seemed to know at drive-thru... ah ha, just now realizing where i last felt this "disconnect" was on vacation in the south, service people running on their own clocks; really no rush, we'll get to it,...

I'll start by saying the staff was so incredibly friendly and chipper. The woman who served us brought a huge smile to my face and completely brightened my day. The food was also well made and fresh, though the fries could have been better. The reason I'm only giving two stars is the place was an absolute mess. Garbage overflowing, trash all over the floors, the bathroom was disgusting as well and it took way to long to get our food. It's the only McDonalds for quite some distance so it seems like they feel like they can get away with the mess of the store. It's unfortunate that the staff don't take better care of the place. On our cross Canada drive this summer ( July ) we stopped at many McDonald's restaurants including this place where we always ordered the same thing for breakfast. I can tell you honestly that every other McDonald's restaurant across Canada needs to ask this place how they make there Sausage and Egg McMuffin sandwich and Egg McMuffin sandwich, to take notes because this location was the only one that got it right. The English muffin part was perfect.👌 Soft and fresh, unlike every other location where I literally had to tear them apart with force while biting into them like they were nuked too much and felt like rubber.
