Didn’t know what to expect, but the experience exceeded my expectations. Celebrating a nephew’s wedding anniversary, we opted for the best rated place. The decor was tasteful, and with ambiance lighting. The staff were the 3 Fs. Fast, friendly and fficient. OK...maybe 2 Fs and an E. Yes it’s pricey, but expect to pay double for just about all restaurants. What you get is a gourmet meal, that will not only delight, but fill you up. We had two appetizers, the Tiger Shrimp and Fried Calamari. The shrimp were more of a cub size than a tiger, but delicious and the sauce was so good...we used it for the Calamari. I found the Calamari cooked just right, but felt the batter was a little thick for my taste. Our mains were all perfect. I had the New York cut, with a full medium sized backer potato and veggies. Presentation was perfect and it was delicious. My wife had the leg of lamb which came with a house salad. Arctic Char pasta and Chicken Parmesan was what our guests chose. We all loved it. Interesting that I even heard some Jean Leloup in the music mix. Great choice. You get what you pay for...and I left satisfied.

I have been a resident of Iqaluit for some time and I’ve always had a pleasant dining experience at the Granite Room. Their menu showcases a variety of options that cater to different tastes. The service is also great! The staff are attentive without being overbearing. They are quick to ensure that your needs are met which genuinely enhance the overall experience.

This place is probably the closest thing you can get to fine dining in Iqaluit, but it wasn’t pretentious or anything. It had a nice decor and the food was great. Would recommend calling to make a reservation for larger groups, like 5 and up as it’s not a large dining area.

I wouldn’t know anything about their food, service, or atmosphere because I never got to sit down.

According to both Google maps and their website the restaurant is open 11am-2pm on Sundays.

Walked through town to the restaurant to find it closed. The gentleman at the restaurant said that they were cleaning between seatings and that they would reopen at 12:45pm (they were late).

After waiting for over 30mins they opened their doors. I walk in ask for a table for 1, to only be told that they are full and are only accepting reservations.

A fact that he failed to mention the first time I spoke to him. A fact that was also not stated on Google or their website.

Considering that not much is open on Sunday, they might want to disclose that information for people visiting Iqaluit. Especially since the restaurant is part of the...

This place is a popular spot for special occasions in town such as anniversary dinners, birthdays, etc. The menu sometimes changes, occasionally spotlighting local foods, but for the most part, the fare here is extremely overpriced and underwhelming for the quality. Myself and my partner have been more than a handful of times, and now only commit to going if a group of friends invite us. Service is subpar at the best of times, as you can feel "ushered" in and...
