Stemwinder Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Kimberley

Abysmal service. Walked in. No server or host to seat us or signage to tell us to grab a table. We waited there 2 mins trying to catch someone's eye because we wanted to sit outside and check whether we would get service outside or had to order at the counter. All servers were busy, no one had their eye on the door. We sat down at the bar, hoping that we'd be under their nose so would get their attention. Nope! Waited there 5 minutes and waved our hand several times to get the bartenders attention. Two of them, 6 ft away and neither of them came to greet us or even let us know that they'll be with us in a minute. When Kim finally showed up, no pleasantries, nothing - what will you have? I would usually appreciate the straightforwardness but given how long it took anyone to even give us the time of day, this was appalling.

Add to the fact, every single person after that was greeted pleasantly by the bartenders. Guess they just didn't like our faces.

Waited an hour and a half for our food before the waitress offered our drink bill and asked if we were finished. Our food was delivered soon after and our fries and drinks were offered to be covered in recompense, in addition another free drink. When the bill finally arrived, fries and 2 pops were waived while we were charged for the "free drinks" resulting in an additional $23 in charge. When we arrived it was 1:30, the final bill was brought out at 3:40. More time was wasted arguing when the manager refused to honour the free drinks and adjust the bill. We look forward to coming here every year! We’ve been coming for the past 17 years and always have a great time! The service is always very good, and they are accommodating since there are usually a few of us that don’t ski, but we will hold a table for the rest that do. Joanna has been our server for the past 15 years, and you’ll never get anyone more attentive and fun! She’s great, we always try to sit in her section when we can! We did another shot...
